anyone ever tackle a Mars Attacks Martian blaster before?

Im thinking of building up a replica of the Martian blaster/rifle they run around shooting people with. its for my costume, and thought I'd ask the pro's for any thoughts to see if its been done.

I know i've seen that kind of handle before, can't recall from where tho.

Is that a photo of an original prop? Weren't there pistol grips?

I wish I could identify it for you, but it just looks like some kind of rifle stock to me. I'm sure someone here can identify it for you, it's just a question of how long that'll take. :confused

Yes, that's one of the originals from the Profiles in History auction. You're thinking of the other gun the Martians used, which was a green, black and red pistol (the cooler of the two guns IMO).

No idea what the handle's from though....

heh just bought/watched Mars Attacks on Blu ray....ack ack ack.. althought it has no extras, the trasnfer so good reminds me why i love the film so much. the guns are fantastic too, aside from the above blaster, the handheld guns looked great.
