Question anyone else getting a virus warning while visiting the site today?

Update for me, it's every page now, and I had the extra happy bonus of "Chrome cannot display content on this page without a plugin! Do you want to install?" popping up.

Sounds a wee bit nasty.

Think I am going to give it a day or two before I swing back.

Good luck with the cleaning.
Chris

PS - Microsoft Security Essentials just had a near stroke letting me know about an exploit. Same thing as avast apparently.

I got a little different warning.. I'm running Chrome...

Warning: Visiting this site may harm your computer!
The website at www.therpf.com contains elements from the site requestbusforward.co.cc, which appears to host malware – software that can hurt your computer or otherwise operate without your consent. Just visiting a site that contains malware can infect your computer.

Apparently it only happens on certain pages. Someone probably has a ghost link hidden on their signature.

Art, You could do a database scan and remove any references to this "co.cc" location. It looks like it changes from time to time. I did a view source on one of the pages that fired off a warning but did not find the link.

I'm using Chrome; got the big red Google Warning page, read the Google stats, told Google I wanted to see the page and that was that. The page I log into first is my IM inbox (BTW, Art - you ever get things straightened out with my e-mail addy?)

farq I installed 2 plugins this morning, java and flash.....

You definitely will want to run an anti-virus or anti-malware prog.

Just as a note for the future, you should never have to install software from therpf.com to make the site run.

Whoo Hoo I got RPF Herpes too! runnign spybot as we speak. Ill come back in a few days when things get figgered out.

I'm getting the same problem on FF with a Mac. I go to security preferences and list it as a site that should not be blocked, and it still gets blocked on every page I visit and shows just a basic page layout. I can get past it by clicking the ignore link on the bottom right of the attack page warning but again it shows up on every page.

When you do a Google search for RPF you see this:

#
Replica Prop Forum

www.therpf.com/ - Similar

In yahoo the listing appears as:

Replica Prop Forum

www.therpf.com - Cached

I do not see any problem with Safari, but I don't like using Safari.

Strange that it still won't allow the site even though I created an exemption through Firefox blocking. However if I disengage blocking entirely then I am able to visit the site unimpeded.

Is anyone else seeing this warning in Firefox?

I get this with every page on the RPF today:

Re: Is anyone else seeing this warning in Firefox?

Yes, I'm getting it. Google said:

"Of the 75 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 30 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2010-10-23, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on 2010-10-23.

Malicious software includes 2 exploit(s). Successful infection resulted in an average of 3 new process(es) on the target machine.

Malicious software is hosted on 2 domain(s), including personallybuild.co.cc/, 213.5.64.0/.

2 domain(s) appear to be functioning as intermediaries for distributing malware to visitors of this site, including clickme172.ipq.co/, personallybuild.co.cc/.

This site was hosted on 1 network(s) including AS26496 (PAH)."

I'm guessing someone hacked the rpf site (or banner site). My computer appears clean but Norton reported a hack attempt when I visit RPF.

Specifically - HTTP Fragus Toolkit Download Activity from requestforward.co.cc

I've got it too. Looks ugly as hell with a white background. Yugh!!
I can't use smileys. :(

This may be related, but is anyone having problems as of today posting links (Such as a youtube video.) on Facebook? It could be unrelated, but as both started happening tofay, I figured I'd ask.
