Not blowing up, but yes, functional lighting up.
Check the beginning of the Firefly Weapons Collection thread I started.
The two I'm making can be seen there.

Unless I run into something before I finish, mine will be simple;
Open = lit = armed
Closed = unlit = unarmed
rather than the screen-accurate countdown.

Sorry, no.
I only had material for two.
I like them too much and they are too much work to just up and sell,
especially in light of the five bucks an hour that my skilled labor seems to consistantly be worth on the open market.
Don't take that as bitter, just an observation that even the value of extras in my collection has to be weighed against how little they are worth to sell. F'r'nstance, I could have worked 4 hours more overtime at my real job, kept my all-metal Jayne LeMat and made more money than I did selling it. A learning experience that will influence the opening bid price on my finished resin Mal pistol.

Mike, I know exactly how you feel. Machine work is usually undervalued, people think we all have CNC that can spit out a part in a couple of min.

Yep, I have a screen-used hero metal grenade. The operation is pretty basic, but cool. One of the small grey buttons depresses, turning the internal light system "on" so that when the top is popped, it counts down. I use it sparingly, as I'm not eager to try to replace the battery. Plus, I never know when a Reaver attack is coming.

Mike's sent me pics of a lot of his stuff, and it's nice. I definately understand what you mean about time vs. price, Mike.

i totally understand about price ect mike....... hate that you feel like you got burned on your Jaynes pistol deal...

I tried to say that I wasn't bitter, just educated.
I set the opening price so it isn't so much that I got burned,
except by myself.
I guess I thought it would bring more and that the offered price was reasonable.
But when it went on the low end, I had to re-evaluate the effort versus value for a purely business sale.
Realize that of the four Jayne pistols that I made, one went to my son (0 dollars) and one went to a Browncoat friend for the low-end price.
But satisfaction is a part of that sales equation. The eBay sale was pure business and in that sense, not valuable. But I think I noted somewhere that the bidder who won it has already sent me almost a dozen emails and is going with the most expensive, secure shipping option; so I'm warming to it a little on a satisfaction level.

The bottom line is I need to quit whining.
But I will put more thought into my willing-to-sell price
when its a purely business decision.
