Anovos Stormtrooper.... thoughts?

Where are these $500 trimmed 501st kits?!? o_O

I am really torn on this. The kits look really great, but without a guarantee to have it in hand before E7 I don't know if I want to focus my funds somewhere else, or not. I guess the 501st approval would be the next big road block for me. I wish I would have gotten in on this thing on the ground floor. At $350.00 there isn't a question that this is a reasonable investment. At almost double the price I find myself asking more questions, and being more cautious...

At 6ft 3in, my hight is saving me money. Damn it :cry

But with 1-1/2" lifts in the boots and an extra 1" sole on the boots (Any more and the boots look odd) you can be an awesome Vader. Screw Stormtroopers. Who do they take orders from???

Is there a single one in the Galaxy who could take Vader,..ah,...no !!!

At 5'10" I have no prayer for Vader

Well, actually, Vader is my favorite. Thank you sir :cheers. & I would've got the whole Vader ensemble, but I thought I'd hold off, & save money, till I was able to see their quality. So I have the stand alone Vader helmet on order.

No offense to Anvos, but since they still have not shown the actual helmet and since you are willing to spend that much, spend a little more and get the best Vader Helmets ever made IMO:

Since their ANH and ESB are so incredible I can't wait to see their Jedi. These will be mine as soon as I can afford it.

I totally agree with you about the Quasimodo Vader 10,000%. & would be honored to add it to the collection. However, I fear I'm too new the forum world, & I need to build my trust up before I would be able to order.
Sorry for going off thread topic.

I am sooo tempted by this but i already have an old, fully assembled FX with a Dan Laws HDPE. While it may be not as nice or accurate, i've already assembled and modded the armor to meet 501st standards and I'm not so keen on starting the build process from scratch again. I was ready to bite the bullet at $350...but now watching the price get higher and higher, i'm feeling an odd mixture of regret and relief if that makes any sense.

I was actually surprised they were going with PVC, its more flexible but its also harder to form and get sharp crisp lines. Trimming is also messy as you can't easily score and break so you have to route everything with a dremel.

I won't be surprised by the switch back to ABS if thats what they are doing. Assembly will be easier if you are trimming your own kit.

Does anyone know what the next (and final?) price point will be? I can't imagine anyone wanting to go with this instead of reputable dealers if the price gets much higher.

It's also the difference between a big company vs someone doing this in their spare time. I just guess I don't understand why they keep jacking the prices up, especially if you can get a kit with on screen lineage for a comparable price. I'm just asking if anyone knows what the "Final" price will be after they jack it up again.

They're not really "jacking up" the price, they're offering a discount if you preorder earlier. The prices and dates that the prices change have been listed on the site since the page went up. And considering all the soft parts included it is still cheaper than many but not all fan offerings.

I understand that. And I understand that it's a good deal. I'm just trying to figure out how much it will be after August 1st.

From the ANOVOS website:

Kit with Completed Helmet: Pre-order becomes priced at $650.00 USD for the duration of the Initial Public Offering, which ends on August 1, 2015. Pricing after end of Initial Public Offering subject to change, including higher MSRP.

Edit: my mistake, I see you were asking about after this time frame. I suspect that the price will remain in the $650 range for a kit. But that's just a guess.

That's what I'm hoping. I am definitely interested in a set up, but now I am torn between the classic set up, and the TFA Armor.

here are the pics of the armor I took at SDCC the past weekend
