ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

With regard to the Kylo costume, there is an article that was published years ago by a good guy named Dan Brooks. He seems great. It is called "5 Reasons ANOVOS' Kylo Ren Ensemble is Authentic and Amazing" and Anovos puts it up in their advertising to attract more customers.

I just sent this to Dan on Instagram and told him that an "open letter" version was being placed here:

"Hello, Dan! Your content seems pretty fun. But please indulge me/ hear me out. I was wondering if you would, truly consider helping out your fellow fans by writing a retraction of “why Anovos Kylo Ren costume is amazing”. I purchased it for $3000 in March 2016 and I, along with every customer, have not received it. Additionally, they are using YOUR article to promote it. I have missed 4 Halloweens, will mix the next without it, and have probably lost $3k dollars. They are a truly awful company run by two total losers. Thank you for your time."

Hopefully he will respond or find a way to remove its use at Anovos.

Would be nice if Adam Savage and the Tested crew stepped up too. They hve received advanced gear and "promoted" it on their site and You Tube channel.

Look I know it's hard to burn a bridge but sometimes a louder voice can make a difference. That said, it's possible that Adam isn't even aware... Tested should be. I sent an email to Norman Chan several months ago suggesting they discuss the lawsuit on their podcast but got no response.

Cheers
Steven

It's one thing for people to promote a product. It's completely different to publically denounce one. Without having directly been impacted by ANOVOS, it could open them up to libel.

When the NEWS does it, say, if they reported on all your experiences after interviewing you, and trying to contact ANOVOS, they're usually absolved from libel because they're reporting experiences after exercising due diligence.

My point is, don't expect big names to publically support anyone unless they're directly impacted.

I'm not saying don't keep trying. I think it'll be just a matter of hooking the right person/organization to the cause.

Talking about an ongoing court case in any great depth, is probably not something they should be doing on publicly available podcasts

I had ordered an AT-AT helmet last February, and after repeated delays, "update" e-mails and some answered, but mostly unanswered chats through their site....I decided to cancel my order and request a refund through my CC company. It was *well* over the 100 day window (almost a year, in fact) but eventually my CC company did reverse the charges because I kept every piece of correspondence with Anovos where they gave me a delivery date, then bypassed it. All that to say, for those who still have gotten anything and just want your money back, follow up with your CC company (if you paid by that method)....they are typicaly willing to work with you as long as you can prove that multiple promised delivery dates have been missed.

Interestingly, the rep from my CC company that I was working with, told me that Anovos actually challenged them stating that since it was over 100 days, Anovos didn't have to provide the cost recovery refund to the CC company....thus shooting themselves in the foot by admitting/confirming that they had blown by multiple promised delivery dates.

Wow.

Hey, despite how angry I and others can get, just a reminder that Customer Support at Anovos truly does not know the answers to a lot of your questions. I had a very nice exchange over the last few days with them and they flat out told me that "higher ups" will not tell them anything new about the Kylo costume.

Which is of course a very bad sign. At every turn up until now it has always meant that the owners are hiding disaster.

It's not their fault, CS. And I really sympathize with CS because they are put there to absorb some real abuse at times which they have nothing to do with.

Three years I waited for my Krennic ensemble with nothing to show except a belt. In October 2018, they said the pants were ready to ship by the end of the month, but then nothing arrived. It wasn't till later I saw on their website that they will wait to ship everything together. Did they even send an email to update me on that? No, of course not. No updates by email ever came again on a product I spent around $750 for despite the line on their website about informing customers within 30 days of changes to their orders.

Although I already received other ensembles from them that I was quite happy with, my patience on this one ran out. Three years is absurd especially since they have claimed it was the pin for the hat that they have been waiting on for the past year..... a pin....

I finally asked for a refund over a month ago. Got a response from Charlie that my request has been forwarded to their "finance department". And then, silence. Nothing. No response. I've sent them a couple followup emails, and nothing.

Didn't realize I was gambling with my money by giving it to a failing crowd funding scheme. These people are shameful thieves.

That says it all about The scum who run this company, they are liars and thieves

They could discuss it in the same manner as they regularly do for any news story they report on.

Cheers
Steve

Of course. That's why I wrote "in great depth" in my comment. However not every news story they report on are currently on going court cases, which can bring legal aspects into play that general reporting doesn't.

I can see why they might not want to discuss it at all though. There's no chance of any issues for them by not discussing it, weighed against potentially causing an issue by doing so before it is resolved either way. Especially when they load the videos of the podcast up to such a risk averse platform like YouTube.

I noticed yesterday that Entertainment Earth removed most of its Anovos pre-order items.
I was lucky enough to get my AT-AT Driver helmet from them last year, but it's a little concerning to see that page reduced to a handful of items now.

Thought I'd give you guys an update on that order I placed for their "in stock" Mando helmet on 3/17.

The last 2 weeks have consisted of ANOVOS stating that a shipping label has been created but not being able to tell me when the item will actually get shipped. I asked them if their shipping is suspended or if it has been totally halted for the time being but I have received no reply. They also are refusing to give me the label # that they generated.

I emailed them yesterday stating that it's false advertising if they state that the item will be there in 10 business days (and yes quarantine protocol was already in effect at the time) and that I have now been waiting 25 business days. I will only wait 5 more business days and if my item is not physically in my possession by then I will ask my cc company to do a charge back.

We'll see how this goes.
