It could very well be the fast turnaround time.
The Premium TFA TK kits were higher priced due to the quick turn around as well. Could be the same here. If they do another run with, say, a 4-6 month timeline, it could very well be 550.
From what I know the OT Anovos helmets are also not from a screenused helmet.Its their own sculpt.All expensive fanmade helmets I know are(only the TM armor is fanmade).
And the Anovos Vader is not really a good copy of an OT helmet.Sorry.
But that is only my personal view...if somebody wants to pay this high prices for mass produced stuff with no limited number and no plaque and papers its also ok.
Its also another point if you are ordering from the USA or europe...the lower prices are only for the US-market.If you order from europe or buy from a toydealer here the prices are a lot higher.For example the Kylo Ren premium helmet costs here in germany 900$.

We are replacing the plastic mic tip with a metal one, so I lifted the liner to see what we are dealing with... very, very poor fiberglass work on the helmet. Strands not saturated, very uneven thickness. Old news to some, but considering their newest fiberglass release I think it warrants some attention..
I've also noticed some hairline cracks and small divots here and there on the surface which weren't apparent at first.

Some of the 501st members that got the early fiberglass FO stormtrooper helmet had some concerns with the quality as well. I haven't heard the same quality concerns with the Vader. Hopefully it won't be a problem for other helmets.

Despite this person being banned, it is worth noting, this helmet was scanned from an original used on set. It was a hero piece and we got unprecedented access to it even down to the pantone chip color call outs. No clever wording here, just some hardcore, kick ass archiving from a great team.
This is part of the new process. You all asked for it and you all got it. We are quite literally selling the lines as they come right off the belt but that's it. That means the run can vary but is meant to ensure that the person gets their goods in a very respectable time manner.
Mostly because the Vader is under priced. That will be changing soon...very soon.
A display stand is like...$5.

I can't wait for the TFA Stormtrooper Premiere line, you all are going to get a helmet no one has ever seen before. The helmet sold out, so Anovos definitely priced it perfectly.
As hard as I've been on Anovos, I have to say - "Kudos! Bang up job (so far), GotMaul".
I was very surprised to see a sell out post in less than 4 hours. We plan on doing more but are waiting for the next committed batch that our factory can get to us.
So there is a chance I will be wearing my Kylo helmet for all of the awkward family dinners this year?

Got Maul, can you tell us more about the creation of the Anovos Vader helmet? The original description said it was a combination of features from ANH, ESB, and ROTJ. Now the description only mentions ESB. Were any original helmets used in the creation of the Anovos?

Stands are cheap but I like it when all the stands , display cases etc. match. Have you considered providing stands for your premier helmets ?

And Got Maul, since my support email hasn't been answered yet and I don't think I'll have time this week to do a live chat, I'll try asking you: I have a Kylo helmet on a payment plan. Is it unusual to have had two payments charged on back-to-back days for that? (Wasn't the final payment, it was two consecutive days in October. Placed the order back in August I believe.) Would Anovos live chat even be the place to ask about that, or is that Partial.ly's issue to handle? thanks!
edit: if I recall correctly Anovos isn't able to sell stands with the helmets because they're licensed as a "costume" maker and not a "prop replica" maker like EFX. Don't remember if that was just speculation or came from the company though.

On the helmet stand you can find great stuff for $5 to $20.

I believe Anovos said officially the stand is your head. It's a "Costume" piece was the official reason as others stated.
I think for the Vader helmet since the costume is ESB it would make since the helmet would be. Obviously all the helmets are very similar so you can say any is a blend of all as the real one is but for clarification it's better to say it's just ESB. My guess as to why it was changed.
BTW I saw this helmet in person this summer at Disneyland along with the costume. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First, the Disney people SUCK!! at some displays there. The Vader mannequin looked terrible. Looked like Vader had lost a bunch of weight. They also bizarrely left the helmet off the mannequin and had it separate which ruined the whole display. The pics were all over and it looks just as bad in person.
HOWEVER the pics here and from there do not do the helmet and costume justice. Holy good GOD they are awesome I have yet to see Anovos Helmet and Costume pics here that do these justice. Really impressive pieces.
