ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

The Mando helmet was done with the Interest List approach. It was never available as a preorder. They did not invoice everyone at the same time. When your spot in the list came up, they sent you an email with the invoice. You had a certain period of time (I think a day or two) to pay. If you didn't pay in time, the invoice would be sent to whoever was next in line. You would be placed at the back of the list.

I did the preorder for the Royal Guard helmet in 2019, so mine was already paid for. I assume they are doing a similar approach for anyone that is signing up on the Royal Guard Interest List.

The older products made over seas have taken years. The newer products made at the US facility have been much quicker.

There have been some reports of quality control issues with the Mando helmet, but for the most part I think the US production has gone pretty well. Both of my products have been very good and received in a reasonable timeframe.

Yep - I remember the Mando helmet offer... It was guaranteed to ship before the show premiered.
I think they only missed that deadline bye 3 months if I recall. So, much improved over the 3+ years I waited for the Han Force Awakens Jacket.
Good for them... Everything is fixed!

Cheers

Did I say "everything is fixed"?

Delivering within months of the estimate is a huge improvement over still not delivering on products from years ago.

I don't have any reason to believe there will be a huge improvement in the delivery of the ABS products. Hopefully more of the fiberglass helmets are planned for after the Royal Guard helmet at the US facility. That will be the quickest way to get them produced.

A few photos of the edge. There is a little glue visible.

The helmet is well constructed and finished. It may be necessary to clean some areas. Since it is a solid, glossy finish, marks show up from handling. I thought some were flaws, but they cleaned up. There is a little glue around the bottom where the liner attaches.

Obviously the helmet is taller than most. About 19 inches on a stand.

The helmet is pretty tight. The front presses on my cheeks. It feels claustrophobic.

This is an excellent helmet. This type of finish is what Anovos has done well in the past. I would say this is of the same quality as the FO TIE Pilot helmets.

That’s awesome! But you know what pisses me off the most about this and the Mando helmet? I have an x-wing helmet that was paid in full for over 3 years ago that I’m still waiting on. Ill
Never buy from aNOvos ever again.

Anovos has made no change that amounts to anything or any improvement for their customers.

The best thing is for them to take no more orders, fulfill all outstanding orders, and go away.

Edit: LOL yes, this post has been appropriately edited by the gods: Let me restate - the Royal Guard is beautiful: I have always liked it. But it is a truly simple shape with a solid color paint job. And I am honestly happy for those of you who got what looks to be a nice product. But in manufacturing this piece I do not recognize any improvement/ progress on the part of Anovos because the creation of this shape is far less demanding than the items at which they actively fail.

Yes. Delivery on some newer items is great and all but they have yet to address the fulfillment of their original products, so an improvement in one area doesn't equate to success.

Unless they make good on those orders their chances of survival aren't good.

Looks nice.Could you post some dimensions of the helmet please?

My Mando helmet was listed as "in stock" and ready to ship. I was not on an interest list, nor did I pre-order and the helmet was supposed to ship in 5-10 days. It took 3 months.

To me that's shady and false advertisement. A clumsy workaround to preorders. I mean they obviously produced the helmet after my order was placed. It was definitely not sitting on a shelf ready to go. Which is what in stock means...

Aside from that,, my helmet had a terrible finish and QA issues.

These measurements are approximate.

Actually producing and delivering a product is an improvement over not producing and delivering a product.

I doubt complexity of shape has anything to do with the long delays. Many of the delayed products aren't more complex than items they have delivered in the past. It shouldn't be much harder to produce a TLJ FO helmet than a TFA FO helmet. Maybe certain items are delayed because of issues with the samples the manufacturer produced, but I doubt that is the case for most of the delayed products. For some reason they have been able to get certain already approved items produced again, but getting new products from overseas has been a major problem. For most products we have no idea what stage of production has been reached. They could be stuck in approving the samples, production is slow, quality issues, etc.

A few long delayed products have started to get sent out like the Rogue One Imperial Officer hat, TFA Solo jacket, and Rogue One Andor jacket. Unfortunately I expect these long delayed products to be released slowly, not a huge batch of different products in a quarter.

I would be very unhappy if that happened to me too. I think your experience is not typical of what most people that ordered the Mando helmet experienced.

They didn't handle the QC issue well. Service after the sale doesn't appear to be very good. Luckily, I haven't had to deal with an issue like that myself.

I have ordered several in stock items with no issues. Others have complained about issues with orders of in stock items. In general I suspect in stock sales go as expected. People are more likely to post when there is an issue than when a product that has been out for a long time is delivered as expected.

The Rogue One hat did not come with the OT cockade. They say that will be shipped at a later date. I'm sure some will complain about that, but I remember some people complaining when they didn't ship completed items when they were still waiting on other pieces to arrive.

The olive hat is the Anovos Imperial Officer hat from several years ago. The black one has 6 stitch lines on the bill instead of 5 on the olive. The black one is a little smaller diameter around the base which makes the hat a little smaller and more rigid.

Listen, I get it - gettin ANYTHING in the mail from them is good because it means you were not robbed of your money. That is a good thing.

And thank you everyone for the pics.

What I overwhelmingly resent is any semblance of Anovos being seen in any kind of positive light because they are sending out small bits and pieces of things. They are still doing far less than they are obligated to do and the reward for it, our money, they took in advance.

A wedding cake the day after a wedding is not a partial success.

I DO realize that this makes me like Charlie Brown believing that next time I absolutely will get to kick that football, but...I do still hope they can get it together. If they ever do get their act together, deliver the backlog and ship in-stock items when they are actually ordered...I probably will come back as a customer.
