ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

So, since Anovos have decided to totally ignore my ‘in stock’ AT-AT helmet ordered back in January, I decided to get hold of one through a third party.
Result was pretty bad- black scuffs, greeblies missing or broken off, chips and just general awful quality control. It’s not the sellers fault, but it’s going back. Staggering level of negligence for the prices they are charging.

This looks pre-owned.
To be clear, you're saying this is an Anovos helmet you purchased through someone else?
If you don't mind me asking: did you get this from someone on Ebay? Was it from overseas?

It was advertised as a new item from a seller on the internet- presumably sourced direct from Anovos as they had several in stock. To be fair, upon opening, this did look like it was a new item and not preowned. It’s the quality control of Anovos that’s the problem.
 
Not to defend ANOVOS but I do know they do get things and send them back as defective. So this may be that. But really it looks used to me as well.

I got mine a few months ago (from Entertainment Earth) and it looked nothing like this, i.e. no defects or marks.
 
I know exactly what you guys are all saying. This does look like it is ‘new’ condition and direct from Anovos, especially since the seller had about five for sale. There’s a youtube video of someone who’s bought the same helmet and it has very similar problems to mine. I’m calling lack of quality control and indifference on this one.

Oh wow - as more and more time goes by these things need to be way way beyond perfect. That is a totally reasonable expectation at this point. That helmet can be repaired quickly but only if you know what you are doing and that is a small percentage of the Anovos victims (aka customers).
 
You know it is time for them to throw in the towel when their vapor ware looks better than the actual product

I know it doesn't make much difference to the customer, but I was under the impression that Anovos inspects a small sample of the product from the factory. The rest are simply received and shipped out. Defects need to be caught at the factory before the item leaves the factory.
 
Anovos also had some problems with the latest batch of STD Phasers that were sent out a couple of months ago. In some cases the P1 site does not close all the way and there have also been some finish issues as well. Of course the promised stand that was supposed to come with it has never materialized.

There’s a guy on Youtube posted a review of his Anovos AT-AT helmet from September (it’s the video that lasts 2 min 58 sec). He’s also totally disgusted with the shoddy quality- appears it was new, direct from Anovos. A lot of the issues are very similar to mine, so it would appear there are issues with the latest batch.
Interestingly, in his description, he says he’s had a few Anovos items in the past and always been very happy- something I would agree on.
 
So the issue is the Chinese manufacturing. Seriously. I have many friends that do business in China and the major issues is they try to fill as much as they can in a short amount of time and don’t care about quality. With the Mandalorian helmet announcement, they did say that they now have a US manufacturing partner. Let’s see how that progresses!
 
I’m not writing off my purchase, but now that I’m no longer even wanting what I ordered, I don’t have to worry about offending Anovos and them canceling my order. I gave Charlie almost a month to issue my refund, and after 3 unanswered emails, I just involved Stacy at Disney. Anovos was not happy last time I involved her, and she was not happy with Anovos for her needing to step in. I have not heard back from her yet, but I’ll wait a week or so before I call her. She has always answered her phone the times I have called, so I’m sure I can reach her if I have to proceed to that point. When I do hear back from her, by email or on the phone, I’m confident a refund will be swift.
Stacy at Disney is a liaison between Anovos and Disney? Is her contact info available?

As you know, we have now entered production with a new manufacturer that we believe to be the perfect fit for this complicated ensemble.
