ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

Funny, I figured that would be the case also because we didn’t get all of the placating literature in advance - i.e. they’re not scared this time because they’re not there.

Thanks for the update!
I was friends with them before they started Anovos. I even worked with one of them at a real job. To my surprise I found out I was only "friends" with them back at Celebration Anaheim. Disappointed and unfortunate to learn what they have done since. There are two sides to every story, would have been nice to have heard theirs.

Sad and frustrating to see they (Anovos/Efx) are still trying to push new items (vaporware) when so much is to be fulfilled/delivered or refunded with no confirmation but just lies. I’ve totally lost my trust and interest with collecting; helmets, props, statues all due to their negligence to the community and the prop world. Just a big turn off and unfortunate for the other companies that are affected from a chain reaction due to feelings of a couple rotten apples. And now I’m thinking of slowly selling off most of my collection. I hope not too many more suckers fall into their trap.

Yup. I even started giving stuff away. Some sales.

Which new items are they pushing? Nothing new has been put up for sale on the website. I know they have a few items on display in their booth that have not been put up for sale yet, but I wouldn't consider that pushing new items.

According to their blog several items have been moved to US production allowing for the estimated delivery to be accelerated from the original estimate. These are changes to address the issues with the long delays. We will need to see if it actually does improve things but at least they are making changes.

Is it coincidence that Anovos and efx have both been having issues with getting higher end replicas made in China in recent years? It used to not be a problem, but recently it has been.

FYI that video is NOT SDCC, that's Celebration in Chicago, even the back board towards the end says it behind the helmets, that also doesn't look like SD Convention center ceiling...

How can they possible announce new items?!?!?
What new items have been announced? If you are referring to the "Interest List" items, those are just possible future products that they are trying to determine if there is enough interest in. The two helmets appear to just be repaints of already in production helmets. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually have several repaints of the clone trooper helmet.

I was surprised at the lack of new products being put up for sale. I agree that they need to show progress on delivering already ordered items first, but they have had a history of putting new items up for sale at major conventions.

"Accelerating," for example, has to mean like May of 2020 instead of early July 2020.

BFD

They have a little over two months to get me a Kylo costume, in time to tailor too, for Halloween.

Would love to see "accelerating" that means something.

Have you read the blog? Blog | ANOVOS Productions LLC

I'm referring to items like the Royal Guard helmet. Accelerating two seasons earlier is meaningful acceleration.

Of course we will be skeptical about these new estimates but at least they appear to be making changes to address the fulfillment issues.

Until Anovos can demonstrate the following:
-All past pre-orders largely fulfilled
-Consistently hitting delivery times
-Ships in-stock items w/in 5-10 days
-New items hit timelines
-Quality increases commiserate with price (especially leathers)

I no longer order from them.

If they survive. And I really do hope they turn it around...

I may only consider pre-orders until they go to an installment plan and you only pay the next amount when achieve the the next stage. And the last amount is only paid when the item is in house and ready to ship and then you only pay for shipping at that time.

Im sorry to hear that all these headaches both eFx and Anovos have turned off collectors and some are done all together. For those in that situation, I understand how that can happen, and i hope you rekindle that fun again soon

Yes. But the blog I read tells me I am going to miss a fourth Halloween season and also any release of Star Wars 9 events.

This last time around, with their Kylo costumes, they either hit the “coast” button too early (way waaay overconfident and naive) or did not know enough to supervise the project.

I suspect a mixture of both.

Too much Renn Faire and not enough sci fi under the belt.

Is their support even around anymore? It's been 4 months since I contacted them about missing parts and for replacement pieces, yet, the one dude messaging me stopped responding

Reggie responded to me last week, after I received an email that should not have been sent out on a discontinued product with no scheduled future production...was also kind enough to point me to the website blog for Star Trek so I had the latest updates on product I paid for, and am still waiting for...
