Another Zvezda Star Destroyer

The bottom layer is now pretty much ready for painting. I just need to add some PE ladders to the frame work and it'll be done. Then to make the top layer which will be pretty much the same as whats on the bottom. I'll add in some lighting too to both layers - just for added interest :)

The next update should see some paint on it! Getting closer to the end - sort of

As always, thanks for stopping in and having a look

Beautifully considered work mate. I’m really appreciative of the way you’re tackling this build - a challenging model (as is) , and the how/where/what and how you’ll end up displaying it. It’s full of information and inspiration. Cheers !

Dusting this one off yet again. Seeing as I have some making up to do in regards to this thread, here's a couple of the most recent (as of tonight) of where I am up to.

I'm over half way done on the left hand side but now that I've added some extra plating on this side, I'll have to do the same on the other side and also the top plate. I have to go careful that I don't extend the shelf too far out or all the detail work will be lost which is why I will be installing SMD's on both levels.

Up until 2 nights ago it was looking like this:

And a couple of close ups. Bear in mind, the detailing is not yet finished as I need to blend the parts in more which I will do over the course of the next couple of weeks

Hopefully you can see where I'm going with it. Once it's primed etc, it'll look totally different and much more cohesive

Thanks for sticking around!

ahhh...finally it's moving on, I thought nothing would happen here anymore...looks already very cool

Nah, I've invested too much time, effort and money into this project not to finish it. I just need lots of breaks in an attempt too not to burn myself out so much that I bin it.
Im a bit like Australia Post in so far as, I maybe slow but I'll get there eventually. In how many pieces remains to be seen....

hi again

Time for another update to this on-going saga. Almost finished the right side mid level - just some more detail to add and then it's onto the final detailing stage of the top plate.

The left side is pretty much done as I want it to be. Maybe a couple more detail bits but not much

So, starting with the left side:

Now the right side:

I have advanced a fair bit in the time since these photos were taken, but the next update will be the finished levels (not painted)

If you have any constructive feedback, by all means, please let me know - I won't get any better without it.

As always, thanks for stopping in and having a look

Till next time

Just as an FYI, but my final obstacle with this build has just been over come with the fiber optic store finally getting back into business.
I have just ordered 60 feet of end glow cable for 50% off - so normally that'd be $108 but got it for $54 with shipping making it $85AU - and that is a steal really when it used to cost me that much for just 20 feet!
So, if you are in the market for some fiber optic cable, the store is finally back open again! Yay!!!
No, I am not being paid or sponsored by them in any way (I wish!) - I just really like their product!

Happy building!

Ima bit late to this build thread but you are doing a great job all the details you are putting on this model makes such a difference. And Im amazed to see your light kit. I hope to get close to your details when Im going to build a paper ISD. You have motivated me to get back to this project.
