Another Star Ship

Thank you very much for the close attention for my build, LMFAOSchwarts-san!
I have been building this model with section by section and some modules are not even installed yet so far. Some of them might be thrown away and might be rebuilt if I don't like it when I installed actually:facepalm:thumbsdown. But it's OK, because I really enjoying this build. And I'm happy if you enjoy with me all the way through.

Hi! hihik-san, thanks for looking at my work.

I rarely use the blue prints or plans. When I got the image that I want to build, I usually draw some sketches or make a small 3D model with some clay or foam plastics.

OK now I'm working at the hanger deck on the nose section.

Looks OK.

I tried to use a thin aluminum plates with many tiny holes for ceiling. Might dim the light.

Then I glued those ribs.

I will add some detail then mask and paint.
Thanks for looking.

Katsu-san, you continue to amaze me. That was a brilliant idea to build the hangar deck like that... and the metal screen you used seems to let just the right amount of light in, after-all! Bravo. Back in the early 90's I drew a bunch of different ships I imagined, from a battle-cruiser to a small medical frigate. I even developed a small planet they came from, the galaxy the planet was in, the solar system the plane belonged to within the galaxy... you have inspired me to put my imagination on the work-bench. Thank-you!

with all due respect, Katsu-san, have you considered leaving the floor of the hangar clear? Maybe paint the underside, but leave the surface, transparent? It seems to give it a polished quality, and would help to refract the light. And that mirror effect helps give the illusion of greater depth. that is just an idea I had. I hope you don't mind.

Oh!! I never mind at all. You have a great sense of beauty! You are the one! Yes, I'm going to leave the floor as it is!! The floor and the side walls are made of clear acrylic plates with aluminum glue tape on the back side because I need those surface like a mirror. The paint job would be for those ribs minimum. I wanted this hanger deck looks like an ice palace.

Thank you very much

This just gets better and better, the amount of depth you achieve with you panel layering is excellent sir.

Love the hanger, great stuff

What colour are you going to paint this beast?

Gag

Incredible. It's so difficult to create an illusion of great size on a small scale, yet that hangar bay has a wonderfully convincing "diffusion of light" effect that pulls it off masterfully.

Just outstanding work, yuumi-san!:thumbsup

Thanks, Again Cedeus-san!
And,
Looks like you have a extra large size toy box in your mind.
Can't wait see your imagination come out in 3D !!

Thank you very much, TheNylonGag-san, I thought that was the one way to let the cigarette box sized place look like a hanger deck size of a couple of football field.

The color is the one issue I'm still worrying about. Now I'm thinking several tones of white. It must be the color brings a sense of scale. (???)

Thank you very much, LMFAOSchwarz-san! That work made my back pain and stiffened but was rewarded by your words. And I've been so relieved by your comment about the lighting effect.
All the best!!

Katsu-san

Colour is something i'm trying not to think about also with the TNG MK.1, i have ideas, i have a look i want to achieve but i have found the best thing is to stay focused on the part i am working on and the issue of colour will be more obvious, maybe, when i get to that stage.

So don't worry for now, a solution will present itself when the time comes.

Gag-san,

I appreciate your words and you are telling me a very important thing.
"Stay focused on what you are doing now and keep on moving ahead"

Thanks. Let's enjoy our build.

This build just keeps getting better with every detail you add, Katsu-san! The ribs you've added to the hangar bay reminds me of the Buck Rogers launch tubes (from the TV show). Also reminds me of Voltron for some reason, ha!

Anyway, I look forward to seeing how this starship progresses. Very inspiring!

Dart-san,
Thank you very much for keep looking at my work.
It almost 6 months have passed since I started this build.
So far it's done about 60-70% and may take another several months.
Thanks to your support, I could carry this build this far.
Hope you would enjoy all the way though with me.
All the best

Thank you Tom-san and Rich-san!!

I missed building for this weekend due to the family service.
May be I can post some progress in a few days.

Thanks for your supports.

A little progress.
making the endwall of the hanger.

I need some stairway or ramp there.

I tried to cut this with a exacto knife but was awful.
Then I tried to use the nibbler for this,

Trimming the edges.

Scratch the back side of the wall(aliminum tape).
And some detailing for the side wall.

Thanks for looking?!? Thank-YOU for sharing!!!! That stair-way is just... it's... UGH!!!!! How in the HELL do you come up with some of this stuff?!? I simply LOVE your imagination and creativity. Did you actually consider making the ramps wide from an engineering stand-point, or is that just coincidence? I can just see little people scurrying about the ramps hauling mobile platforms of parts, materials and cargo to load onto the ships or remove supplies... brilliant! Thank-you. :thumbsup
