This sucker is HEAVY!
You could easily kill someone just by bonking them on the head with it!

I am a bit gutted about the Manmelter- its brilliant, but as a 'work of art' it doesnt have the details of the other two in the range- these photos prove that ! .SOrt of feel a bit miffed....less to stare at in the evenings, you know the sort of thing!!!!...maybe I'll win the other two ;-)

Not complaining about the money- they are very nice pieces of work. I hope they sell out !

I'm really digging that velvet lined case!

That's a great looking raygun there DS. Enjoy the heck out of that thing!

Looks nice.........but honestly I like yours better. Yours looks more.....'real'......if that makes sense !

Nice addition to your collection.

Thank God Han Solo never carried that. Can you image having to try and replicate THAT?

Looks great. Glad you enjoy it.

I'm just trying to imagine how you get your nemesis to stand STILL while you adjust everything to get it set up to zap him! :p

Probably by tying him down and telling the long story of how your evil master plan is going to work. :lol

I'm not into steampunk, but that thing looks wicked cool. And given the nifty case and the amount of moving parts (per weta's site) I think the price is quite reasonable. Especially considering how much people shell out for solid cast resin replicas with no moving parts etc.

I know exactly what you're talking about... But I can assure you that it probably has nothing to do with the design of my gun or your gun.

I've found that most times when I buy something (especially when Im trying to decide over two or three different version) that once I have the item in my possesion I wish I had picked up the other one.
One day I had this same dilemma and picked up a certain item (can't remember exactly what it was)...And after I got home I wished I had bought the other one instead. So about 2 weeks later I went back and bought the other one...And guess what. After a few days I realized I liked the first one I bought more than the other version.

I believe this has to do with the fact that once you OWN something, you don't crave it as much because you already own it. It's the thing that is NOT in your posession which will alwaysdraw more interest.
Rest assured, Im still wonderin if maybe I shouyld have picked up the Manmelter instead. All that aside, I am still floored by the detail on the FMOM though.

You could easily kill someone just by bonking them on the head with it! :lol Best quote I've read on the RPF in a long time. Nice addition to the collection!

You think Im kidding??...Im serious. If you threw this thing like a boomerang at someone, it would kill them from the weight or from the the spindly spikey metal things poking out of it.

Looks nice.........but honestly I like yours better. Yours looks more.....'real'......if that makes sense !

Aw, you're just saying that cuz we're buds. :lol (Thanks though!)

Im glad you brought that up...Here's somethign you'll get a kick out of -

This is an excerpt from the owners manual that comes with the gun -

"Operation of the F.M.O.M. wave disrupter gun is as follows
- Ensure phial is at least 6/7ths full before charge up

-Adjust pressure up dial until resonance at 523Hz (Use provided tuning fork)

-Discharge device within 6 seconds and emit for no longer than 4 and 2/3rd seconds.

-If discharge fails (or discharge requirement reversed), dial pressure until resonance at 1760HZ.When pressure guage reads at maximum, squeeze trigger and lower sefetly lock at the same time.

- Never look directly at emission.

- In case of catastrophic failure, remove oneself and property from vicinity of device promptly."

mm im intrigued now- define 'owners manual' as the manmelter came with a cert. and a brochure with various contraptions in.....not sure I got something specific to the Manmelter ?

I agree with your comments, yes I may well get another (!) and I still stare at it for approx 15mins a day (yes I have a sheltered life !)

Damn fine piece :cool

...now I'f I could just win Lotto this weekend...32M might go some ways to getting me a collection of rayguns, eh?

Man - these have got to be some of the most meticulous props ever built. After my obsession with Blade Runner dies down, I may have to grab one! Congrats!
