Love the build. I was interested to see how the segmented body approach would work and whether you'd overlap the segments. I keep thinking that it would be easier this way to make it, however I'm still on the fence and thinking about doing an all in one approach, although that has it's mobility and flexibility issues, plus god knows how you go to the loo when you're at a con if you're in an all in one Groot suit on stilts!!! lol

Oh yeah forgot to say, I also really like how you're used eva foam for the arms and legs rather than the insulation pipe as it's a lot quicker to use the lagging pipes but then you have to coat them with tissue paper to get the texture right, which I understand cracks when you move around, so I too was planning on using 100% EVA foam sheets in the build.

thanks very much, I figured since I was so tall with the stilts, I needed to shoot for the easiest assembly and suit up. I do like the idea of a 'one piece' to prevent any gaps showing like how my arms and legs show my under shirt. I was pressed for time on my build but I was still pleased with how it turned out, the kids really enjoyed it and I found a lot of Star Lords to pose with.

There's definitely a lot of Star Lords appearing at Comic Cons. It's great to see so many people building the more ambitious Groot. :)

I'm also a little concerned about the whole getting in and out of my Groot as it's an all in one. I'm getting a boiler suit to attach the body foam to and I'm going for a front fasten up, with the seam being hidden by the chest plates. That at least makes it possible to get in and out by myself. Although I think it's going to still be very tricky.
