Here it is, Rance Burgess' "Active Return Bolt Laser". This is (I am told) the one and only stunt prop used in production alongside its Hero 'older' brother :) .
Unfortuanately it is missing the "Auto Target Adjust" tube mounted on the side but i'm gonna craft that special .

Its made of hard rubber with some sort of solid internal structure.

I am one gorram happy Browncoat :).

Shiny. Gorram shiny.

Now you're being sure to keep it near open buckets of RTV right?

I'll mirror the "shiny!" comment and if it can't fall in silicon,
how about good 6-sides of pictures (both sides, top, bottom, front, back)
to aid builders?

I remember a thread attempting to decipher the components of this awhile back that just sorta died from lack of input.

Again, super acquisition!

That is really sweet!!!!!!!!! Very cool man - if you don't mind me asking where you picked that up? auction or private buyer?

This kinda makes me wonder though - anybody know what happened to the lassiter? I mean the prop not the storyline...

that would be downright tragic... nice looking thing like that, falling into a bucket of rubber!

i'd feel so bad for him that i'd have to throw some cash his way, to make him feel better about the accident and all.

Yes indeed, luck was a factor. W'regard details I have nothing new to share really. What you see on screen caps is just as good as having the stunt in front of you in terms of discovering the found items. I was kinda hoping to see a serial number/name/other clue in the casting that would help - sadly nothing.

Currently I have no plans to create direct castings from this piece.

Included is a new pic showing my newly fabbed Auto Target Adjust Tube.

:eek:eek You're so gorram lucky! This is the first bit of progress we've had on this piece. Have you got any other details to share?

If you are uh, going to make any casts, etc., I'll happily purchase one. :)

Feel free to post it over in this thread (dedicated to the laser): http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=19360

Looks shiny! Are you going to add the screen where it displays the "check battery" warning?

The 'Low Battery' appears on a portion of the lower tube (as seen in my recent pic). My batt warning tube is just rubber with the dark screen painted(now faded/rubbed) on - this tube is glued to the body.
I could add the target adjust by simply push fitting the bracket i made into the original hole - no permanent change. However, modding the batt tube would be more invasive and i don't wanna do anything like that to an SU prop.
