I started prepping for this next build, grabbing dimensions is a difficult task with so little reference available. Mocking the big tamiya wheels was tricky.

Scale obssession

I am a long time model builder, straight out of the box, but kitbashing and studio scale are my favorite subjects.

I wanted another way to mount this thing, I found some small knurled 3mm nuts, I embedded 1 in the model. Then made a brass stand with another silver soldered in place. This will look better for display purposes. I probably will not detail the back side, the old axiom states "If that side of the model never gets filmed, then it stays unfinished. Plus there isn't any photo ref of the backside. Those leopold braces are so delicate. they broke twice already.

Do you have the Pignose Band image? It shows (barely!) one of the Cylon mine versions with a mounting rod apparently side-mounted.

I had not seen that image, thank you for sharing. I knew it was mounted on an acrylic rod though.
