Hiya, names Steve.
Im relatively new to this hobby (about 12 months now)
so i dont have a huge collection...but i do have alot in the works.
My first costume was a 501st approved Sandtrooper.
Here is the weapon I carry as a sandy, the T21.
here is a technique I learned with a rough bristled brush, and some woodstain.
turning solid plastic, into a woodgrain stock:
though i loved the idea of some leds in the end or something, I decided to go big.
So i gutted 2 300 volt studio camera flashes, remote dual triggered with a 12v relay, and a magnetic reed switch. coupled with a little red celophane, and voila.
while finishing up my sandy, i began work on a scratchbuilt jawa for my son.
jawa
A chunk of pine, and a bunch of parts from home depot....and his jawa Ion rifle is built.
above is a picture of the real jawa ion
Next I started on my Underworld Elder.
weaving up the leather riding skirt
wanting to save all my cash for the (expensive) armor, i decided to mod up an old cheap "glamdring" that i had, into something resembling the "viktor" style elder sword.
little bit of weldsteel putty
rewrap the blue handle with some black leather, sand, paint, weather....
helmet contacts and fangs together for the first time
first troop in full costume
next is my Jodo Kast (wip)
Jodo is a Boba fett imposter, featured prominantly in the "twin engines of destruction" comic.
bucket paintup.
one of jodos main differences to boba, is his use of heavy munitions.
so, we casted up some lemon grenades, and some M shells.
an RC servo, a gutted kids toy, and a few hours of soldering, and you have a rangefinder that moves, remotely controlled from your gauntlet.
sidearm and munitions painted up
95% done jodo at his first troop
Other costumes on the go right now:
Nightsister (for wife)
BSG Duty blues (for wife)
BSG viper pilot
ROTS Darth Vader
thanks fer lookin!
