Hey guys! I've been trolling the forums for a while now, and you all have AMAZING stuff. I'm really inspired and I can't wait to post more. This is my first post and hopefully I'll be crawling out of my cave more. ;D

A few days ago I got a callback from the comic con documentary that Joss Whedon, Morgan Spurlock, and Stan Lee are making, and this is my reel for it with the Mass Effect 2 (an awesome computer game) costumes I'm making for comic con. We're doing an animatronic head, a lot of armor, and some light effects. SO enjoy! And if you want to skip my boring speech they wanted me to do and see more props, just go to around 5:40.

I'll be posting more updates soon as we get more armor done....it's getting frighteningly close to comic con...ahhh!

Here are a few pics of the head sculpt and some armor!

WOW

You make my Indy and Sparrow Gear look like Childs play. Very fun little doc and awesome team of people you have there - i can hardely get people to attend a con - let alone have them assist in making an animatronic costume.

Cheers

Moony

I can't wait to see you there. I'm also going to comic con. I just saw Your youtube video. I live in Los Angeles. I went to that Comic book store I few times. I wish you good luck with your costumes

You... you're my hero!

Mass Effect is my all time favorite game... OF ALL TIME! :) Jawdropping work on the animatronic on the krogan!

Oh my god! That is so awesome, it looks like he's supposed to be scary but with the blinky eyes and all he looks cuddly.
Like a cuddly porcupine. ^___^
The mouth moving is also impressive, very natural looking.
"OM NOM NOM" lol

awesome! Can't follow the links in your video at work, but I'll be right on it when I get home. I like interviews like this - I don't know anybody else that does costumes so it's fun to see somebody I can relate to (especially the little bit on Home Depot haha)

Amazing work Fyriel! I love work based on VGs, and you're doing an amazing job bringing it to life. Welcome to the board

wow, wow and WOW!

you are my new RPF idol! The feeling you must have got when seeing the latex mouth and eyes move, any chance you can bottle it and send it to me? :love

cannot wait to see more progress, outstanding work!

That is just some great work. I'll be looking forward to following your progress.

Lurker here looking for inspiration for Halloween 2010 :)

Anyways since Holly never posted back (in this thread anyway) I thought you guys might appreciate seeing the finished project at Comic Con. Everything looks spot on - Illusive Man was really good, Tali, Shephard Armor... and how did the Krogan animatronic turn out, well, see for yourself :)

San Diego Comic Con 2010 - #07 Mass Effect 2 Suicide Mission

(No I am not associated with this project , just a fanboy who was following it).

wow, that actually gave me the chills to watch! I'd love to have the skills to create something like that some day.

Hey guys!! I'm finally posting back!! ;D

I love this forum, every one of you are such an inspiration and so amazing, you make me want to get more things done!! ;D

Anyway...I'm trying to decide between which character to make for next year...I'm leaning towards a puppet/animatronic that isn't a costume, but can be sort of suspended outside of the body, it's weird. I have to figure it out (haha). But I'm trying to decide between Mordin and Legion....though I sort of want to make Mordin just so he can sing the song.......

I've never player Mass Effect 2, so I had to look up the characters. I also looked up your stuff on YouTube, great job. Whichever you choose to recreate, I'm sure it will be an entertaining journey, and I look forward to your progress.

You are OFFICIALLY one of my all time heroes-- stunning work, really gets me fired up to work on my own projects!! And pleeeeasse please do fem!strange. I'm doing fem!Namor for that con,it would be great

Awesome costumes - do, did you win?

I've been wondering this too... I saw the vid of the making of when she first posted it.

If I haven't said it before, this is seriously some of the best costume stuff ever to grace the RPF! That Krogan character is just rediculous! And That is comming from a guy who has never played this game!

Can't wait to see what you and your lil team do in the future! :)
