Animated Batman costume.

So I'm putting together a costume based on Batman the Animated Series and I've already got the cowl and boots mostly done, I'm getting fabric for the cape tomorrow, which I'm going to have custom made, and I have the bodysuit and belt picked out. My main problem is how to do the gloves. I planned on using heavy duty plumber's gloves, but was told that that would be extremely uncomfortable. I should also add that I'm on a bit of a tight budget. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Help with Batman?

You could buy yourself a pair of inexpensive, lightweight knitted gloves and make the gauntlet and fins out of craft foam.

It's hard to say without knowing which batman suit that you are going for... If I was doing it I would build them around a pair of mechanics gloves but those can be kind of pricey. The good thing about them is that they are built to allow for movement of the hand.

Re: Help with Batman?

In response to your comments, knit gloves are out of the question, since I'll be wearing this Memorial Day weekend(albeit only one day), I'm going for the main costume worn in the first three seasons of the animated series, and I'll post some pics later on today, once I get the fabric.

Re: Help with Batman?

I bought a pair of women's leather long gloves off ebay, they came from china so they took a while to arrive but were quite reasonably priced, Forum ~ Runboard
I made a tutorial of my whole costume including how I attached fins to the gloves At brotherhood of the bat forum.

One source that has been very helpful to me for both gloves and boots has been a Salvation Army - or Goodwill store. Pick up a pair of knee high women's boots - cut off the top for either the top of a boot or the sleeve of a glove. An appropriate boot and or glove paired with the cut off portion of boot has worked really well - as I try to stay on a budget as well.

That is genius. Thank you so much.

Re: Help with Batman?

The issue of gloves has been resolved and my belt is arriving in a few days. Does anyone have advice for how to do white eyes?

Hate to double post, but I just wanted to update that my belt has arrived(no pics yet) I think what I'll do for the gauntlets if can3031's plan doesn't work out is to make them out of craft foam and plastidip over them.
