ANH Stormtrooper Leg Armor

I am in the process of scratch building an ANH Stormtrooper full armor set. I viewing all the HD images, I find there is no side seam in the legs (differing from the construction of the biceps and forearms). Are the legs made from side pieces instead of front and back which would make the seam in the location of the front and back raised stripe?

Yes, they're made from a two side pieces with a strip of plastic glued down across the seam.
