ANH DL-44 mag plate color

While looking at ANH promo photos last night I noticed the mag plate color of the hero DL-44 is silver. I looked at both color and b/w photos and they both show a silver plate. Looking at the b/w photo, you can see the mag plates front "T" is outlined well where it meets the body of the gun. These attached pictures are not the best but show what Im seeing. I would like everyones input on this.

In many pictures, you can see that the tip and edges of the mag plate has some considerable wear, so what you see is mostly exposed metal. Other than that I think there is also glare in the middle image.

At first I too thought it was glare from a studio light, but Its showing up in multiple photos at different angels. Im thinking the mag plates blueing had naturally worn off or was intentionally removed for the prop. I know the gun itself was mix of two guns.

*Also due to being a corner piece, is most likely holster wear. Makes sense and should be considered for builds.
