Angel-Shanshu Scroll-Map-Maker suggestions?

So I finally found a graphic arts designer who's a fan of Buffy and Angel
and who has agreed to take on replicating the Shanshu Scroll as seen on Angel:

What she has come up with so far is looking spot on and I'm excited that I'm going to have it to display next to my screen-used Scythe from that show as well, but here are the problems I'm trying to wrap my brain around and hopefully some of you map-maker/scroll maker/ancient texts type people can make some suggestions for me.

The scroll is 10' long with the bulk of it rolled up and held in the left hand while the above section is unrolled and held in the right hand as we saw Angel do a lot in the early season's:

The designer is creating a "file" of the image for me to print out and I need to know how I'm going to get a 10' roll into my printer and have it print on just the last two feet of the scroll?

The other problem is weathering and ageing...I've heard the one about dawbing milk onto the paper and baking it in the oven and I think I want to stay away from that, to begin with anyway...

So, have at guys...any suggestions?

The scroll image is really coming along nicely, I received an almost complete rendering just last night.

Come on you guy's, not even a peep from Relic Maker?
I would have figured since I hit him up for this scroll over a year ago that he might have some sage words of advice on the best methods to distress it?

Anyone?

I can tell you that if it's printed on an ink jet printer, do NOT weather it after it's printed with any water soluble material...forgive me if that's already a given.

If it is, I'd weather the paper before printing, but that might make it get tangles up in the printer as the paper will be wrinkled.

In the past, I have used coffee to weather paper. I'd soak the whole paper in a shallow cookie sheet filled with watered down coffee. Let it sit for awhile, then remove and place on a flat surface it won't stick too so it can dry.

I seem to recall people using lemon juice, but I can't recall if there is more to it than that.

Thanks dropship, that does give me some idea's!
I think my main concern at this point is how to go about getting it printed on the end of the 10' roll.
I may end up just taking into a Kinko's and seeing what they can do for me after the paper is treated.

Thanks for the enthusiasm guys! We Angel Fans are few and far between it would seem.
I already have plans to replicate the scroll AND the correct case for my own collection from the early seasons of the show.

If it where me, I would print it out on clean paper than use a light table and trace it by hand onto the weathered paper, it has the advantage of having been done by hand and looking more authentic that something printed.

I'm a huge Angel fan, and the detailing already looks amazing :) Would love this prop! Can't wait to see the finished product :):)

I know I should have mentioned this earlier but if anyone wants to follow the progress on this more closely thay can follow this link to the Angel/Buffy Artifacts build thread on my web-site: Buffy/Angel Artifacts

The Shanshu scroll is third from the bottom.
Thanks for looking!
