I just checked this lovely paperback :



and it seems the scene with Vader's face revealed was filmed quite early on in production in the UK and it seems logical to film Shaw then too as Jedi ... it's quite a fun read about the many issues involved in filmmaking ... alas still no pictures of Shaw in his jedi robes though ... but they must have been made ... I'm quite certain :wacko

I feel like an investigator, reading wikipedia again mention that the scene of the spirit of Anakin, was filmed by George Lukas in person, and everything kept secret or hidden.
