Amazing Spiderman Putting together your Suit

But one thing you have to know. anything under that Lycra could show. So you will need another under suit to go with it.

Damn! As a perfectionist verging on obsessive compulsive, the mask not lining up would infuriate me to no end. It's a real shame too, as I really like Taylor's print. Is it perhaps the way it was sewn or does the print not line up. Maybe you should see if Taylor would consider making a replacement using better mask pattern. I'd be happy to help him out with that, if it comes down to it.

Seeing how you guys suits are coming along is really wigging me out. I can't wait to get my prints on friday.

Im freaking out.
Is there anyone reading these threads that has sewn a Spider Suit before that I could commission? Losing sleep here people. :facepalm

i was thinking of using latex on the end of the fingers so you could climb, say,
fire mens poles. like at the park. would that work?

Well I've got two questions:
1. A spidey toy mask for a face shell; how many modifications and problems would one need to go through to make it work? (I know people have suggested using this as an alternative but maybe some details or possibly if someone has already started with it)

2. Puff paint applicator metal tips; which are the best, where can you find them, etc. (I've seen some mentioned in the spidey suit threads but some are either lacking a bit of info or I can't find them online)

Just two things I feel could help out a lot of people trying to make spidey suits. If I find some stuff relating to this I'll be sure to share with you guys.

Anyone else got any questions? I can't be the only one lol

Honestly I didn't want to be the annoying guy with all the questions.
But since you don't mind.....

I am working on my Asics shoes now.
How in the world does one glue or sew these things on the lycra?

From what I've read; fabric glue is one of the best options. You can find it at Walmart or any store with a DIY section. The one I saw was around $14. Hope that helps a bit I think "El Fett" can clear this one up better since he is the one that has a complete spidey suit with attached Asics.

Fabric glue is too weak. You need something like "Shoe Goo" or "Barge Cement" to hold the lycra "sock" to the base of the shoe.

Ideally, you would apply the Shoe Goo liberally to the base of the shoe, then with either a shoe last, mannequin's foot, or your own foot wrapped in layers of plastic placed inside of the sock and pressed down and/or clamped onto the glue until it dries.

After that you can sew or glue the pieces that extend upward around the heel and toe to complete the look.

Guys, I have a question about puff paint's color. I have just seen that Redtogusa's suit( which is excellent) has dark blue puff paint on the blue parts of the suit. Which one will look better? Dark blue(Redtogusa's blue has been mixed with black, so it's dark blue) or black?

I asked the same thing.
I was advised to buy the navy blue bottle. And drop 2-3 drops of black puffy in the bottle. I guess shake afterwards?
Basically a dark dark navy.
This is what I will be doing once I get my 2nd run print.

Thank you for your detailed description.
I usually fully commission costumes and this will be my first more hands on suit.

Thanks man for the advice! I am gonna make the same thing with the color! One more question. What would be te best way to apply puff paint? I mean, sew the suit pieces together and then apply the puff paint, or apply it directly to the cut pieces??

For the puff paint it's best to do it prior to sewing together, also make sure that the fabric is stretched out before applying the paint onto the pieces.

Hey guys, i know most people have been getting their suits as printed runs from what ive read. I have just purchased one of Sonjou's prints and am looking on what is the best material to get it dye subbed onto. i have contacted a dye sub company and they have pretty much told me i need to give them exact material specs.
I have no idea what im asking for so any help would be great.
