Amazing Spiderman Putting together your Suit

Sounds like they need to know the size of the file in order to give you a price. Most printers charge per square meter, so if you have photoshop just measure the file, height and width. Or if you don't have access to photoshop, ask sonjou to get the measurements of the file for you. Also, you need to have them print the file onto a 4-way stretch white Lycra material.
Hope that helps!

Just finished my kicks.
Got some final touch up work to do.
Reds a little bright but I still haven't seen my print so well see.

@MercyFlush what all did you do to the shoes?

Purchases ASIC's Dirt Dog 3's in Silver.
Cut the tops off.
Then colored the sections in red and blue with fabric paint pens.
Now Im filling in the tough spots and chipping away splotches with my exacto knife.

Alright. You guys are gonna think I'm nuts, and maybe I'm having a futuristic senior moment. Or maybe I just got my head hit to hard in Martial Arts class yesterday by Mr. D, probably that. But here was my thought.

After the print is sewed up and done. What if along the "belt", along the bottom part (a little lower getting in some blue), and across the red part of the suit that gets dark, I cut it. That way it's easy to put on the top and bottom. No real need for a zipper. Like a shirt and pants.

I'm not going for a Replica suit. I'm going for, if it was me and I was making a practical suit I might do it this way. So what do you guys think, any suggestions or ideas?

You'll end up with a gap between the two parts. The costume needs to be kept under tension. It's why the prints have to be made specially if someone wants a detachable mask. You need to account for an overlap in material so your neck isn't seen.

Plus, no one wants to see spidey like this:

Anyone had any thoughts of attacking a battle damaged spidey? I sent my file off to be dye subbed yesterday and last minute made the order for two. Will be making the genuine replica original, but am going to attack a damaged, slashed chest, "trashed" one also.

I instantly laughed at that pic lol :lol
What if I only did the back part of it and not the whole thing? If I put like Velcro or something but I stretch the top part down a little. Or will it still not be right.
I don't know how this stuff works, but that's why I'm asking and am grateful for the responses! :)

Like look at this pic:

You can see on the back part of the belt it is raised, which means it is covering something. And in the movie, and in some set photos, you can see that the whole top part of the suit folds over and hangs, but is still attached to the front. http://www.thehollywoodnews.com/wp-content/uploads/spider-man-set-3.jpg and http://collider.com/wp-content/uploads/amazing-spider-man-set-photo2.jpg

I wonder if there is any Blue that will be cut off for stitching the suit. Does anyone know? I know there's always a little extra.

The belt piece is simply covering the bottom edge of the zipper. If it's held in place through anything other than tension on the fabric, it's not velcro.

Velcro + Lycra = Messed up Lycra.

As for using some of the cut off to fill the gap, my rough calculations say you'd need approximately 4-7 inches of fabric to fill the gap, (Which you won't get from the cutoffs) AND then the "shirt" section would still be riding higher, making Spider-Man look like he wears his pants higher than Steve Urkle.

Great job!

Did you unstitch or just cut off the material along the edge? I ordered mine which I should get any day now.

The plastic parts? I used a Xacto Knife and cut the stitches then sliced them off. All you need is the Xacto. Careful not to cut too far with them. They are sharp!

So then........I can't do that. hahaha :facepalm
Well, you really are a lot of help, Thanks Nick. So would any part of my idea work, or is it a failure. I'm usually wrong and I accept that.
