Amazing Spiderman Putting together your Suit

A lot of the seams can be hidden in the webbing actually. But like Aris said, it wasn't specifically designed for that, like MCL34N's. Personally I don't mind a few visible seams, after all TASM suit isn't supposed to look as "perfect" as the Raimi suit. And like Nick said, the pattern is extremely busy, especially if you're using the puff paint!
Yeah I agree I'm not worried about the seams at all just getting it together. Can't wait for the 3rd run, my Smeagol side of me is telling me "when will you use the precious" but I keep saying, "but I want the precious" :cry lol Luckily for me I always win hahah

Haha yeah, getting these together is definitely a challenge, especially for people like me who are horrible at sewing!

Ha ha ha nice metaphor! I too am anxious for that 3rd run. I'm checking these threads religiously. I can't wait to see a Taylor print fully sewn. The Mcl34n suits look absolutely stunning, and I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that Taylor prints will be comparable. Hopefully the seam issue isn't a big deal once the puff paint is applied.

Of course, I'll have to find a quality seamstress to do it justice. Anyone have any recommendations? I'd kinda rather mail it off to someone far away that has experience with this type of suit than give it to someone with no spandex-body-suit experience just because they're local.

Yeah, I'm trying to think of my own solution. Did you notice in the movie, every time he puts on the mask, the camera turns away lol That drops my hope level wayyy down
Yeah and when he takes off the mask for the kid, spoiler should not count unless people haven't seen the 4 minute preview, you can notice that it's tucked inside the neck area. There's a very visible gap in the separate pieces, same thing I want to avoid.
This seems like a good discussion idea!

I'll be monitoring this thread closely, as I too hope to be part of the third run of suits before Halloween, and want to be able to enjoy halloween parties without having to take off my whole suit just to drink something.

Speaking of which, has anyone considered putting a small (like maybe 2-3") zipper along the seams of the crotch to facilitate taking a leak without removing the entire suit? If it does actually require assistance to get in & out of the thing, using the restroom could turn into a real nightmare. This would be especially true at parties involving alcohol (assuming you opt for a removable mask and can even drink at all.)

The obvious concerns with putting a zipper here would be trying to keep it as invisible as possible, and any potential 'structural integrity' problems it may lead to. Judging from people's pics, that area is subjected to some serious stretching when doing the various Spidey poses.

Instead of the removable mask, I really enjoy the "drop-down" mask some makers offer. This lets you expose your face, but it also keeps the one piece look of the suit.

I think with the puff paint applied it might be easier to hide things such as magnets and seams to make the removable mask a possibility.

With this particular spidey costume, I think if there were a few "eye sores" around the mask/neck area it wouldn't detract from the look too much. This is a very "home grown/peter parker made this is his room with a bucket of scraps" kind of costume.

With a fairly long neck on the mask, and a zipper going down the back, with maybe a series of magnets attaching it to the neck, it might do the trick.

I've been playing around with ways to have a removable mask, but nothing looks quite as good as a full suit.

Haha. Ummm yeah I had a pee pee zipper installed on my last 2 Spidey Suits. It is easier than depantsing at a bar and having to ask your friends over and over to "zip me?". But because I wear a cup with my suits I have to move the cup to the side, then try and grab the zipper (hard with gloves). From what I know there is no easy way to make yellow as Spidey.

You can hide them pretty well. I had one of my friend to do it, but didn't do a good job, so I sent it to a seamstress. But still you can see. If you do it right you can hide the lines. By the way, there is no face shell. Just the shape of my head.

I've noticed that things aren't lining up with Taylor's print on another thread. Is that because of the way it is sewn? The pattern looks great, really if you didn't want to do the honeycombs wit puff paint and just the webs it would still look fantastic, like spot on.

One of my friend did the sewing, but didn't do a good job. So I took the print to a professional. But you can tell if you do it right, it will look awesome.

Are the pictures your friends work?

That's right. at the time, we couldn't figure out the print, but after Nick Fox show me the pic, then I got it. Should look good when I get it. As you can see the neck part goes pretty far. Shouldn't be any problem having a detachable mask.
