Amazing Spider-man 2 pattern

Stealing again?? wth!!

- - - Updated - - -

If I tackle this one, I'm thinking of following the example of Brado's seven-piece suit on the superherohype forums and using RD-407 mask making latex for the weblines. To quote him:

Cool, would try this also!!
Wow man, good luck if you do it.

sorry for the double post, but this Bruno guy just sent me a message.
basically he asked me to "show him my Sony licence and he'll take it off" anyway, after a bunch of emails I asked him again to take it off, to which he replied that he can't because "he's not selling my pattern"
now he claims that the sewn suits he's selling are something he's working on, and that it's not mine, I guess only time will tell.

To be completely honest with you Orhadar, legally I think he is allowed to resell your print that way since technically you never copyrighted your work. A thing you could start doing is before you send people a print have them sign a contract stating it is strictly for their personal use and that you do not give them permission to resell the file. Or a one time use type thing. Just a thought.

On another note. That rubber mask stuff looks amazing! I've always just been too scared to put things on my suit such as puffy paint in fear of ruining it. If we could start a thread maybe giving tips on how to use it that would be great or even right here.

Nuh-uh, no way. Bruno is not allowed to profit from Orhadar's art, and his art does not need official copyright docs to be protected.
Any creation is automatic ownership and protection to the author.

U.S. Copyright Office - Copyright in General (FAQ)

Bruno was being snide about the Sony license with regards to the Amazing Spider-Man 2 Pattern in this thread, but Orhadar's comic style print is entirely his own creation and he has every legal right to profit from it. That's the big one here.

And besides, this movie suit pattern isn't the same deal as when Sony sent C&D orders to people with Raimi patterns back in the day, because those patterns were made from 2nd or third generation copies of the actual print files owned by Sony and used to print the film suits. Orhadar's pattern here doesn't even match the sewing construction of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 film suit, and the interaction of the webbing highlights and trompe musculature is his own design. While Sony might have some leg on not wanting Orhadar to profit from this pattern (which is always the case with prop reproductions on this forum), the fact remains that the digital painting still absolutely belongs to him under copyright law and this Bruno "ColorSuits" jerk CERTAINLY has no legal right to resell Orhadar's piece of artwork and profit from it himself.

Well as far as I know, only brado's tried it so far, but it's the best solution I've found through my research. Like any application, you'd have to practice first before using it on the final suit.

Agreed. That Latex looks like a good idea. I've ordered myself a bottle from fleabay to experiment with. Might be good for doing the spiders with too, make a little mold, pour it in, Bob's your uncle.

That's exactly what I was thinking Retogusa for the Spidey symbols.

Also *****, Lunaman I'm sorry I was just suggesting something ; _____ ;

Yea, and you suggested something that was dismissive of Orhadar's rights and trivialized the issue at hand. This is not an "aw shucks, better luck next time situation," ---some leech is preying off of my friend's hard work, violated his rights and was using images of my body without my consent for his sleazy personal gains.
You should be sorry. Glad to hear it.
I appreciated the apology, don't appreciate how lightly you offered it.

Now if you go back and read my post it says "I THINK" because I didn't know and I happened to be on my way to work. I was just contributing what I thought could be true and offering a suggestion that I know others on this board use when selling prints. Now I don't want to start a storm on someone else's thread but you need to back off. You have absolutely no right to attack me and we are all on the same side here. Just because you feel violated doesn't mean you have the right to take it out on anyone else here.

Don't try to make a tone argument with me, buddy, I have a right to respond to the situation as I did, highlighting the relevant points so that the text was easier to read. You came in offering advice to Orhadar on account of things you "think" and "didn't know" about, and in doing so casually placed a bunch of misinformation down as if it were fact. If you mistake my ire at the situation and conviction at presenting the best info as possible as a personal slight, whatever. I assure you I am only mad at this Bruno ColorSuits character right now, but that doesn't mean I'll be ok with having the issue trivialized.
Have fun at work.

One thing I've always wondered is arent everyone selling ffinished suits on ebay kind of stealing from the pattern creators a few months ago there where 7 or 8 on ebay all being sold by members I believe just curious :)

I guess if somebody makes himself a suit and it doesn't fit, or something is wrong with it, there is no problem in selling it, but to print multiple copies and make a business off of someone else's work is just not right...

Precisely.

Of course it's wrong, I just wasn't sure if it was illegal for him to do it or not! Anyways there is always the contract option you can start implementing if you feel the need!
