Aluminum Fett Ears

Hi all...

We (Me, Scattrap, and Batninja) made the trip early this morning to visit with the Machinist and view the first two prototypes of the finished ears and RF stalk assembly.... I think from the moment I saw them I was blown out of the water and almost fainted at the first site of them:suprise, mainly because the amount craftsmanship and professionalism that was put into these by our machinist was just amazing!!!! They really made us all speechless.......I think we all had a tear in our eye. :cry

These are the first "prototype" ears....and we have already worked with our machinist to get correct modifications done...all be it very little was needed in terms of any mods... TRUST ME....they're perfect as is....
at this point we were just happy that we got to bring these babies home today!!:thumbsup

Final assembly will come with a TEMPLATE to ensure you drill the holes correctly to mount your ears properly.:thumbsup

Details:

1. All the holes you see have threaded holes drilled, meaning you can literally screw the bolt in from the front side and not have to worry about attaching a nut on the backside/inside of the helmet, (nut attachment though is still recommended)......
The entire kit will include all of the hardware needed to mount your own ears.(slight modifications are being made to the placement of the threaded connection holes)

2. The Ear Cap (my favorite part) will come with a pegged fitting with Magnet attachment :suprise, as you can see from the pics....
Magnets will come with the kit and are on BOTH the RF housing base and the Ear Cap. And trust me this ear cap will NOT fall off....plus the pegs are 100% steel, for added strength. :thumbsup

3. The Left Ear Piece , As you can see in the pics the depth of the gap in the ear piece is not as deep as it should be:thumbsd....a simple mod on that will be in the final product.... with few additional mods here and there.

4. Hollow Range Finder Stalk, right now the kit will include a hollow rangefinder stalk....but there are TWO versions........
a. one where there is simply a hole drilled all the way through (most Popular version)
b. and a second version where there is a plate-covering that will need to be glued on (more accurate, and according to Braks may be simply a stunt version stalk.)

The dimensions and positions of the various features on the right ear follow the features on the helmet very closely.
Whose helmet sculpt is that? Was the helmet modified to accomodate the right ear? If no, then I would say that the measurements of the right ear must have been derived from the helmet sculpt.
Personally, I see nothing wrong with one artisan selling parts made to fit parts made by another artisan.

no..there's only RPF politics...so flame away. To your credit...I've seen your stuff...all very nice, so I respect your opinion on a lot...but give me some details why you think they ripped you off. They are using my machinist to make these parts so in a way you're accusing me too of stealing your ears. I'm a very level headed person and don't get invovled in flame wars as I didn't on the dent....but let me hear your side first Rouge. I use this machiniset to make a ton of r2 parts and I know he wouldn't have known anything about "copying" your stuff. He was just doing a job.

Honestly I think the only "BS" here is you....thinking that you are the only one smart enough to actually come up with these...the only difference is we are not being @ssholes and unlike your group we actually like to share this stuff with the masses...and not limit them to a "select few".

Well I made ears they bought one set admittidly they used my left ear on their new helmet. I have it in writing if you need. They didn't make ears nor did they have ears in production until we made ours available. Plus calling me an a-hole in a post is bit out of guidelines for the board wouldn't you say? If I am wrong just have him post up comps that's all i ask. Balls in his court. Personaly by saying they used your machinst that would indicate to me you are offended by my inquiry why did your machinst do the measures? IF not don't strand up to me you have no proof yourself. Go on the TDH see where we offered ears and see when their ears came out. This is even known by the owner of TDH they used my left ear which they backed off after losing creedence and just said it was an ear cap. What am I supposed to think just post proof you didn't show side by side pictures. There were no accurate ears anywhere to be found until we let ours out which came from a sreenused casting of the helmet.

I am being made to feel out of bounds here but if I am then tell me what I have done wrong questioning and asking for proof...also I did not name call.

Backdoor what are you talking about..show me a post I made to backdoor you folks. I just don't like you guys that's all but I never subvertered you. Trust me I really don't care what you guys do we've already found the whole suit why would it matter to me what you guys do. I think you need an ego check. FP has not posted one photo of anything being sculpted how can he? he cut up a Jango helmet to make his most recent helmet. I'll post photos that were pulled from the TDH.

Also, on the phone with my machinist and from what he can see in the picture one of the tells we added is on his ears. I'll let that out as this progress I'm curious to see the dance right now.

Lets be straight here, for the last 3 months, you've had Single_Seat trying to rip us all a new one "FOR YOU" on TDH. Never once did you ever have the balls to get up there yourself and act an ass ... you were more diplomatic. So you had him ripping into us for you. And it got him "BANNED". I told you both before, you're about to make asses out of yourselves, and you wouldn't let it go. You had this Single_Seat dude treating me like I'm some sort of flash in the pan, newbie fly by night recaster. Full well knowing that I've been around a while, and I'd never risk my reputation over something as silly as recasting your precious super uber accurate Boba Fett ear caps. I tried to compliment you guys on your achievements, but you must have taken that as I was kissing your ass like everyone else and really gave a damn about them. You figure I must of recast your ear caps, because I had a set of your resin ear cap copies on my bench, and even posted a pic of a couple of them on my helmet in the early stages because I had not made my own yet. Well, here it is bro, sorry to burst your bubble. I only had a set of your caps, so I could post comparison shots of my own scratch built when the time came, as I knew you would call BS.

Are you so arrogant that after 3 months of hearing that you're about ready to make a mistake, you feel you've got enough proof to do what you're doing? For those that are not aware of what's been going on behind the scenes, I even offered to send my scratch built master's to Rogue Studio's minion, Single_Seat. But after being dogged, and dogged on the boards, I finally put my foot down and basically said "Screw You", "I don't owe you Shi*". However, I did say openly, that I would be happy to send them to a third party moderator (unbiassed) for comparison. And I'm still ok with that. But after the banning', it wasn't brought up again until now.

So, here ya go my old friend (and I say that with the utmost animosity, as no matter what I've done to salvage a friendship, you still try to crucify me any chance you get)




Exhibit #1 (During the scratch build of the outter top ear cap)

The white area is the corps of a resin Jango fett ear cap from an ILM casting. It was shopped in half, spine cored out, then to bondo city. The sharp portion at the end, was off of an old MSH2 earcap. (All pieces of which, were mine to do with as I please.)

In this directory are pics that should show any moron, they're barking up the wrong tree. And in a few minutes I will add the pictures of the other ear cap masters WITHOUT the primer so ya'll can see they're all resin and bondo :lol Spideyfett will be posting pics in a few, of the aluminum ears next to the RESIN MASTERS that were given to the machinist.

Have fun with this Lee. And for the record, you are the true narcasist here. If you were really trying to help benefit the populous in the Fett realm, you wouldn't have offered your super uber accurate Fett ears in RESIN in the first place. Shoulda gone Aluminum. You're just pissed that someone beat you to the punch.

Well...before this gets out of hand....I didn't swear at you so I'm pretty sure you're not reading my posts if that was directed to me.

My whole thing is that MY machinist that I use to make r2 parts that I referred Spidey and the gang to is a very reputable guy and would never knowingly rip off anyone. I don't have to stand up to you at all....you made the accusation now prove it. If it is proven then I will go to the machinist and tell him what's going on. I guarantee you he will stop the run.

I've been receiving updated pics of the run while it’s been in process....because the machinist is a pal of mine. I know nothing of your clams that they stole your measurements from a cast you made.

But, if you can prove to me that they did steal them...I will go to the machinist and have him stop the run. I'm as much against recasting as anyone....but as others have proven in the past and post proof to back up their clams...I await your proof.

Again, name calling is not my style. This is my last post on this subject as I kinda think these threads get out of hand very quickly.
