All things Tron Legacy

Thank you Wakeem for your effort - I appreciate it. Strange, some don't the awesomeness of the posters, even if they had it right in front of them.

Ok. Good news and bad news. It appears those images are facebook banners according to where I found the image on Flickr. I found the image again on a few other searches but they aren't higher resolution. I guess the banner nature is why it's not in the press images that are on some sites. I can't find the image on facebook anymore on the "wall" or in the photo groups. But I don't use facebook so I could be missing an area. Maybe someone who is on facebook can ask for a high quality version over there or do some searching?

I still see juke boxes around in restaurants or what have you.

I kind of chuckled at flipping on video arcade games that have been off for almost 30 years and they start up without problems like that. I bet half of them would not get past a self test or come up at all because of a blown fuse.

Hmmm, I followed most all of the tron facebook stuff and don't remember seeing those banners. Maybe a myspace thing?

It may be in there. But the wife and I watched nearly all of those, but after about the 4th, they just seemed like review of stuff from the flynn lives video.

BTW, when it comes to the High scores screen. Just enter the number. Don't be a dork like me and enter the initials to get the videos.:rolleyes

What number are you talking about?

Do you know where the last bridge shot with Sam and Quorra was filmed?

In the last scenes when they are on the motorbike, they're driving thru Stanley Park and over the Lions Gate bridge southbound, however, in real life if you are heading southbound then you'll drive over the Lions Gate Bridge first and then thru Stanley Park before you get to downtown Vancouver.

Should take some screenshots and identify the locations for you guys. I noticed in one scene where Sam is driving his bike at the beginning, it's actually the exit/entrance of an underground parking. A Caprica scene in Battlestar Galactica was also shot at this location.

I remembered this photo the other day while watching the movie, of what was said to be an extra on set back in 2009. At the time it was the first "glimpse" as to what the costumes would look like, or so some thought.

"As you probably know, Disney’s Tron sequel is currently shooting in Vancouver. /Film reader Mark P sent in this photo of an extra on the set. It was taken a couple days ago when the film was shooting downtown. I have no further details to dispense. They’ve been shooting sequences which take place in “the real world”, or more specifically New York City. Yesterday we posted a set photo showing a building with the ENCom logo, and our scooper reported seeing “tons of police cars chasing a guy hanging on to the top of a taxi.”"

So it sounds like they were filming Sam's chase scene, but where did this guy come in?

Thank You ,Meta. That just saved me a buttload of trouble! Now I just need to pick up some stuff to make an Iron on transfer for a shirt!

Cool. I need to go there one day. It looks like a nice city in the movie. I've been a bit east of there before. What about that opening shot island where Sam lives?

Ok. Mission accomplished sort of. It's a facebook banner. It's actually on the TRON Legacy site in the downloads section...I just never checked that section before because I have little interest in facebook. But all three images are there. Unfortunately, at the same resolution. I downloaded the screensavers so maybe something is in there. But I think we'll need someone who actually works with Disney or the FX companies for a higher resolution asset now...Maybe they will make a door poster of the image in the future. It would work well in my videogame room with the Discs of TRON environmental unit I still plan to pick up.

No 'official' release, maybe. But they're around. And Flynns Arcade playlist is out there as well.

What's the Flynn's Arcade playlist? I know the two songs from Legacy. I guess I'm old school. I have the original soundtrack on record and CD too. For an Academy nominated score you think they would have an official physical soundtrack with all the music instead of the download special tracks from all over the place option.

Actually, there's four songs from Flynn's Arcade (as there are two movies with Flynn's Arcade involved). "1990's Theme", "Only Solutions" and "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)" by Journey and "Sweet Dreams" by The Eurythmics.

Im sure the choice of using a Journey song was a homage to the first Tron film, which also had a Journey song playing on the arcade juke box.

Anybody got a digital copy disc they don't plan on using? I didn't want to buy extra dvd's just for that.

And again SD DVD users get screwed out of the good material yet again. I checked Target and they had T:L SD DVD. And it's one disc with two featurettes. Where the hell is the "Derezzed" music video? The "Next Day" short? And why the frak is there no audio commentary by the director, writers, cast and crew? WTF?!

I'm pretty sure they were saying "The Next Day" was always a Blu Ray exclusive. I think most studios have decided to put more features on BR, because the people who enjoy them have already upgraded. DVD is being left behind.

I picked up the 4 disk set at Costco for $24.99, I will really just be using the DVD and the Digital as I don't have a Blu-ray player yet, much less a 3D TV but for that price I will have them for later when I do. Besides Disney can be tricky with their DVD availability. I like knowing I have it.:thumbsup

But still... Two featurettes? At least the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World SD DVD included deleted scenes, a gag reel and four audio commentary tracks. And that's enough to make someone forgive Universal for screwing them out of the other stuff on the Blu-Ray (such as the alternate scene edits, the behind the scenes materials, special effects breakdowns and storyboards, amongst other things).

My point is that just because BR is out now doesn't mean that SD DVD users shouldn't be short-changed on materials on their DVDs. Just two featurettes is no better than a studio slapping the movie's theatrical trailer into the "special features" section and calling it a special feature (I'm sure everyone knows that feeling and has experienced this).
