Hi Folks,

Im gradually getting round to designing displays for all my props (after my girlfriend kindly said i can have the loft for a prop room) and i have a set of aliens armour cast from an original terry english set, and im wanting any ideas or pics of how i should display these i want it to be unique e.g. not on a mannequin.

Has anyone got any ideas or photos.

I think you are going to have a bit of a tough time displaying the armor in a way that shows it off nicely if you aren't going to have it on some type of human form... Since it is body armor, it lends itself on being on some type of mannequin, even if it is just a torso.

a mannequin will properly display it better than anything else..It will show off your armor the best way possible without making it look flimsy...Or you can go the alternative route and pay an arm and a leg for a company to make a display for it,,

since it is a terry english set which are extremely expensive than I recommend the mannequin for now since it is the cheapest way to display it..unless you have the money now to pay for a display

^ It's not a Terry English set, it's likely an MAA set if it's cast from one of Terry's originals.

I used to display mine on a half-mannequin mounted on a speaker stand from Ikea consisting of 4 vertical bars in a concrete cube.
No room for a full mannequin, and the end result looked pretty good.

But as everyone else has said - If you want to show the armour off, a mannequin's your best bet!

You considered Ye Olde Armor Display Stande?

Few bits of wood, bit of wood stain and a handful of nails.
Job done.

Thanks for all you suggestions and help folks, think ill go for the torso on a custom stand, Will post pics once ive got it done.

From the crotch up is the way I would do it. That's where all of your showcase stuff is...the torso and the helmet. Nothing really to show-off on the arms and legs. The way Griefboy has his displayed is ideal.

Unless you had the manequin holding the pulse rifle in one hand, a motion tracker in the other along with the proper watch.

I guess it just depends on how far you want to go, and how much of the costume you have to display.

Griefboy had the best "non-mannequin" display I've seen- It was in cabinet with a full length glass door.

I'm pretty sure you don't display it like that anymore, but I'm a bit surprised you didn't post that old pic Geoff.

I have all the armour inc legs and i have a motion tracker which i made up from a Kango 426 that i will be displaying on the floor in front of the armour, the pulse rifle ive decided to get rid of my resin one (PM Me if anyone is interested) i was building up and get a De-act Thompson and eventually get the pulse rifle parts (Shrouds, Spas Cage etc) Which when built i will incorparate it in the display hanging on the armour.
