Aliens Pulse Rifle in the UK

I am in the UK and have wanted an aliens pulse rifle replica for a long time.
The problem is the laws in the UK. I don't want a two tone version and have to put up with the paint wearing off around the mag area and the blue showing through. Its silly really, as i just want it for display.
My Dad owns a military vehicle and has been a member of the MVT (military vehicle trust) since 1979.
Does anyone know if my Dad will be able to buy one in accurate colours if he shows proof of his membership with the MVT?

Keith.

if someone is a member of a re enactment society with valid insurance, part of a theatrical production or can prove they regularly attended Airsoft games days at properly insured sites they can by an RIF(replica imitation firearm). If your dads MVT qualifies as a re enactment group he may be able to by a RIF but he would have to gift it to you as any money or services given would count as a sale and your father would be liable for prosecution.
Or easiest way go pay airsoft 3 times in no less than two months get signed of and buy it yourself Airsoft's fun.

I don't think an Aliens pulse rifle will qualify as a RIF no matter the colour. If you look on Wolf Armouries website, the Theatre/Cinema section shows the Pulse Rifle kit which they sell. Beneath the photos it says a UKARA membership is not required to buy the kit, so in my eyes that means you need no special membership or registration with anywhere to buy or own it.

Airsoft dealers are VERY careful about selling within the law due to the consequences, so if the site says the RIF rules aren't applicable then I think its trustworthy enough :)

P.S. If you want to avoid painting altogether though, you could go for a deactivated real thompson. They are legal for anyone over 18yo to buy or own providing they have Proof House stamps recognised by the Home Office. They aren't cheap by any means but they have the awesome factor of at one time being real, the weight of a proper one, and don't require painting of any sort!

If this sounds like more your cup of tea then do a bit of research about deactivated guns before you go and buy one, just so you are clued up on the regulations. But sites like gunstar.co.uk have loads of classifieds. Loads of Thompsons on there!
