Aliens: Colonial Marines

Sorry to interrupt this indictment if the video game industry and endless continuity navel gazing to discuss the actual game for a moment, but word to the wise, load up on ammo in the Hadley's Hope last stand level. That us all, back to whatever you guys are arguing about... :)
 
Considering the only hits gearbox can manage is just one series they need to watch or they won't get any contracts. I'm amazed this lawsuit is even moving on since nothing happened with ME3 and that false advertising.

SO very wrong on SO very many levels

Gearbox/SEGA/Fox did a number on this one... going all out "the sequel you never got!" and "it's canon!". It's like Alien Res plus a slap in the face :(
 
I don't mean to sound like an dick, but if gamers want to sue Bioware because of a crappy ending, then they need a swift punch to the side of the head.
 
Agreed.

With ME3 the crappy non-ending was just the tip of a huuuuge iceberg(killing off characters outside of the games, in a twitter feed in-fact. Not being able to import your character from previous games etc).

Well, I mean, they can file a suit. Doesn't mean it won't get tossed out during pre-trial motions. And if I were counsel on that case, I'd ask for an hourly rate rather than a percentage of any recovery, if you get what I'm saying.

DLC Mission 2 Play Through.

I LOVE that shot of the merc putting the injured guy into Hicks' cryo tube! And yeah. Hicks was there to witness Ripley's death? And I thought Vader's "NOOO!" was bad.
 
I know it's a bit of a necro but i just picked up the special edition on amazon for under 40.00. The extras are actually nicer than the game. I got the power loader statue, a nicely printed briefing packet including a customizable colonial marines graduation certificate (which i'm going to scan so i don't have to fill out the original and ruin it), a nice recruitment flyer, a teletype style printout of mission info and a large fold out blueprint type artwork of the ship you ride in on. This stuff to me is worth the 40.00. The statue is nicely painted, though i'm not fond of the metallic paint on the alien and they even got permission from Cat to put their logo on the leg like in the movie.

So far it's a better game than i was expecting from all the reviews but i think the patches they've put out over the last year fixed a lot of the glitches. Managed to find Hick's shotgun already. At some point i'm going to get the Hicks DLC. For the price it for sure is worth the extras, i also forgot to mention you get a pair of colonial marines uniform patches.
