Alien Romulus Jerry Cans

So these 20 liter Jerry Can's were used as set dressing in 'Alien Romulus' but I have never in my life seen Jerry cans with that particular pattern stamped into the sides. Since the movie was filmed in Hungary I'm assuming it's some strange Cold War era variant but I haven't been able to find anything yet. I'm actually more surprised that there isn't a Weyland-Yutani logo on it. LOL

Very unusual design for sure:unsure:

I came across this video of a “restoration” on one of these cans. There is a sticker on the side but I can’t make it out. Looks like it could have a US or a U5? Maybe a 1 or I to the left of it?

The guy in the video is Australian so it may be worth checking into listings from there. I hope this helps in your, or any other members, searches.

The funny thing is that's very close to the original type of cans, made in Germany for WW2. They even have the same cam lock lid.

I'm pretty sure it was common in British cans, and I think in US-made. Not my area of expertise...

Much of German kit was hideously over-hyped, but this was recognized as impressive design. The air venting alone was genius.

I think I had found similar of more recent manufacturer, but closed the window and not having luck now. I think '20 l'itre may be the key.

I have several Jerry cans and I've never seen anything like this one. I've searched for British, Canadian, Australian, everything I can think of. The only one I've ever seen is the one in that video. Must be some obscure variant. Also interesting is that it's debossed with "NOT FOR DRINKING WATER" which I've never seen on a Jerry can. But the fact that it says that in English limits the countries it could be from.
