The facebook page for Prometheus is publishing some never seen before concept art. Like this piece:

Which I really like. It's interesting to think there was some kind of vegetation hidden inside the domes.

That's a beautiful picture. It reminds me of old school concept art. I've always hated the new style of concept art that often times seem to be influenced by the overly detailed and noisy computer graphics that don't really capture the essence of anything other than noise and regurgitated concepts.

Sigh... Really, Jeyl? Is it possible to just let an update to a Prometheus thread go without letting your contempt be known for the millionth time?

I'm sorry. It's the brain. Once it wears out, it tends to forget that most are done with my verbal abuse. But just look at this guy. I find him to look genuinly creepy. I totally get the sense that whatever the black goo is doing to him is changing him into something that will look completely different. And my favorite bit is that it doesn't even look finished. Kind of like the deleted cocoon scene from ALIEN with Brett and Dallas. You know they're going through change, but what exactly we may never know because we torch it to heck before it's even done.

I actually like this and I'm disappointed that not only was it not used in the movie, but the whole sequence was put in a spot that makes it feel so out of place.

Nice scene with Shaw questioning David involvement with what happened to Holloway. If that scene actually transpired, I would have been more lenient towards her character since the discussion showed that she obviously cared about Holloway and the events that lead to her unwanted pregnancy. And David begging for his life would have made him more unique when compared to the other androids of the series. Ash was content with being destroyed, Bishop wanted to be destroyed (ARGH!), and Call? Well, she's got those killer boots at least.

They had more scenes of Holloway being a drama queen? What is he moping about now? That he'll never know what kind of hand sanitizer the engineers used? What makes the deletion of this scene even sadder is that it looks to be followed by this little bit.

SHAW SLAP! For me, seeing Shaw slap Holloway would have been a complete letter upgrade in Shaw's "likability" rating, cause that's exactly what I wanted to do to his character.

10 minutes of deleted Prometheus scenes reveal a whole crew of pissed off scientists.

And I thought my predictions were bad. Holloway is flat out unbearable. These scenes would have made his death a blessing for everyone.

  • I didn't come all this way for an autopsy. Remember, we were supposed to talk to them.
  • This isn't Africa Eli, this is outer space!
  • The Earth is a godda** petri dish.
  • Why are you here, huh? For the meaning of life? Forgiveness for your sins? Or ask God why he traded you for your mom?-----

Ok, I'm going to stop you right there. First Shaw is unable to bear any children, and her birth was the cause of her mother's death? Did her character come with a "sad story" value meal?

  • Or maybe to ask him why he took your father.

.......Would you like fries with that?

  • She slaps him, they struggle, and they do it.

Even with all that nonsense, Shaw has the funniest line I've ever heard that was meant to be in a serious movie.

  • I saw his head explode. A couple of hours ago. I know infected when I see it!

How many infections are there where once a person is infected that their decapitated head explodes? I think Shaw is confusing an infection with an overcharged capacitor.
