Alien: Covenant (Prometheus Sequel)

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

Enough to get a seat on Prometheus herself. We get it, you dont like it, this thread is about more not less, you can always start a thread to promote the opposite.

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

You have totally over qualified yourself in pretty much every Prometheus thread.

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

Well, if I'm over qualified in something I like, I shouldn't have a problem in doing what I love to do. Thankfully I don't need money or a map to do that unless I want to get technical. Just rest assured that my point is not to say that I don't like this movie, it's to simply make fun of it for being so bad.

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

Well I dont really have anything positive to say to that so I will just again suggest that you start a thread of your own and you can fill it with all the fun you can type, so you dont have to pounce on every Prometheus topic that comes up, would just make for a better all round experience.

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

All this ......... and no one gets the JANIK FILLS VICKERS IN deleted scene title gag, tough ...... room.

I don't know. I seem to be having a great all round experience right here. Why don't you just defend the film I'm constantly blasting? Why don't you tell me that my opinions are wrong and that it's stupid to expect a map person to read a map? Or that it's totally improper for me to wonder why the engineers would get upset over us finding their weapons base even though they left us directions on how to get there?

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

If you bothered to read the very FIRST post of this thread then you would have known that those discussions arent needed or wanted in this thread.

To be honest, Im not really interested in your opinions on Prometheus anymore especially in a forum such as this thread and I certainly dont feel the need to defend the reasons why I like/dislike the movie with you over a keyboard, its all been done to death by people far more observant than me.
Now please, I have to get back to dying my hair blond.

Oh, if that was your problem, why didn't you just say so? I'll chime in.

Shaw gets lost on the ship, falls into a chamber of eggs, gets face hugged, climbs back up into the pilots seat, David tells her that she's been infected, she tries to send out a warning, dies before it's finished, ship crashes, alien destroys Davids head, burns it's way into the egg chamber, and dies somewhere down there.

So yes, Shaw's incompetence finally caught up with her in causing her own eningeer ship to crash for the Nostromo to visit.

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

Scientist 1: We believe that sharks created humanity.
Some guy: What? Really? What proof do you have.
Scientist 1: I don't need proof. I choose to believe it... Plus they have eyes. We have eyes!

Shark DNA / Human DNA = 100% MATCH!

Scientist 2: My god, they're us!

*later when both scientists are next to a sleeping Shark*

Scientist 2: My god, it's one of the original creator sharks! Ask it if it can give us immortality!
*wakes up shark*
Scientist 1: I will now speak to it in it's native language. Blurp, blurp, blurp, blurp, blurp, blurp.
Shark: You humans are a failure! I will eat you all! *Chomp*, Om, nom, nom, nom.
Scientist 2: My god, it's headed for the beach! We must stop it!
*Shoots a harpoon at the shark*
Shark: Ow! I have been shot and can no longer speak! But I will still eat everyone!
Scientist 2: What horrors have we unleashed? It is as if God had created the devil, and gave him JAWS!

Hah! I would most definitely watch that movie, but only if Peter Stormare provided the voice for the shark.

And if you're going to continue poking fun at the film, you think you could move past the "HEY GUYS I CAN READ A MAP, FOR FREE!" point, please? You've been hammering on that one repetedly for a bit now, it's getting tiresome. At least keep it interesting!

At the expense of the experience of others. It's easy to have a great time when you inconsiderately scatter-shot your opinions for (seemingly?) shock value rather than open exchange.

Why don't you just defend the film I'm constantly blasting? Why don't you tell me that my opinions are wrong and that it's stupid to expect a map person to read a map?

Because it's exhausting, Jeyl. A discussion requires people to meet each other half-way. Relentless re-iteration of the same complaints shows no intention of growth or shared understanding. It's not a conversation when you're in it.

Or that it's totally improper for me to wonder why ...

I find it improper to the degree you persist at the expense of other discussion. I used to enjoy discourse on the RPF, even with those members with whom I disagreed. Now, every time I consider contributing, I do a scroll-check to make sure you're not sullying it with your bile.

Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way, but I thought I aught post at least one explanation of why I abstain where I once posted pages and pages worth of discussion here.

Enjoy not enjoying Prometheus. You put a lot of effort into it. For those of us who prefer less destructive efforts in our discussion, maybe eventually we will find a place to talk about these movies.

You could ignore me. It is possible to not feed a troll, and I guess I was one here. It's hard for me to stop when something like this is so enjoyable. If you think I'm disrupting the conversation, I guess that's sort of what I want which I can see why you hate it.

But god, it's so freaking hard for me to move on from this film. It's not that I hate it because it's bad or that our characters are just stupid, I hate because it wants me to think differently about two of my most favorite films of all time. Instead of thinking "Whoa. What kind of mysteries, alien cultures and haunting stuff lies out there in the deep vastness of space?" to "IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL!" And with that, the xenos are no longer aliens. They're something that humans created. And not only are other sites force feeding me this crap, they're going so far as to say that Ripley is now an insignificant player thanks to Prometheus. I thought I would only get that from Art.

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

Jeyl:

I know we're buds, so take this in the friendly tone it's intended, but I think what everyone is saying is ANY post or bump on the film is immediately followed by a negative comment from you. We all get it: you hated it - I don't even disagree with some of your issues, but it'd be nice to have a little breathing room in the discussion if that makes sense. ;)

:cheers

Re: Paradise (Prometheus Sequel)

Just a heads up...this is not a thread for those who dont like or understand or even care about Prometheus, its for those who want to see more of them.

Jeyl, how can you not understand or respect this?
