Alcote Substitutes?

Hey guys and gals, if any of you are familiar with multi-piece appliances I'm sure you've probably heard of or maybe even used this before to float off your sculpt before; Alcote!
I am personally tired of the stuff. Does anyone out there have anything better that they use? I've heard of success stories with various types of dish soaps, but I can't pin down a brand, or the process, I've heard everything from putting it on and hair drying it, to rubbing it in until its dry then re-wetting it slightly and adding a second coat then repeating.

What works for you to float off your sculpt?

Alcote is better than dish soap, though dish soap will work well enough. I usually do several coats of whichever I'm using, just to be on the safe side. The brand of dish soap shouldn't matter too much. The idea is that it dries out and is rehydrated, causing some slipperiness under the clay so it is no longer stuck to the stone.
