How was the quality of the kit? It looks like it isn't that bad from the pics but you never know with stuff from china.

Kit quality was surprisingly good. Not bad for $15. It's basically the old ERTL kit with (pretty good) figures added. Same moulds, I understand. Plastic was typical styrene of today. Main rotor blades came not perfectly flat is my only criticism of the kit.

Very nicely done! I especially like the work you did to reshape the turbo thruster intakes. What did you end up using for the main body color? The scratchbuilt wire tail skid at the back is also a nice touch, as are re-orienting the rotor blades and the pitch links to give them some bite (something not everybody adds to their models).

Thanks JM! The wire on the tail actually came with the kit.
And I used Rustoleum Charcoal metallic. It's nice as it changes from dark grey to near black depending on the light.

Not 100% happy with it though, I'll be doing another shortly (hopefully not in TWO years though).:lol
