Advice re: a prop ring

Hi, everyone.

I've been on here for a good while, but mainly as a lurker, I guess. I've made a couple of projects here and there, but nothing requiring any real skill, so I wouldn't call myself a maker, just an enthusiast maybe. Anyway, I've been wanting to have a replica made of a particular ring for years now and haven't had any luck so far with finding someone to make it happen.

On the LP version of the KISS album (Music From) The Elder, the center ring on the vinyl shows a man's hand wearing a ring. Side one shows the ring and hand from above, side two showing the hand and ring from below. I want a copy of this ring. To my knowledge, the only photos of this ring are the two on the record itself. It is not shown on the cover art, not on the front, back or the gatefold. I have searched for years to find better photo references, but apparently this prop was created and worn only for those two pictures.

Can anyone offer any suggestions how I might be able to have this made? Any help from this amazing group would be much appreciated.

I'd start with getting a copy of the pictured disc LP. That will give you the highest resolution photos. Use the LP to make a call on the details.

That being said it doesn't look the like the flower/rose is a copy of the larger physical door knocker It looks similar to an existing rose ring. I'd find a vintage similar ring then have a jeweler make a copy, add the door knocker to the side and then cast in bronze or rose gold.

Also, you can find seperate components of the ring online. You can prolly create it yourself buying the pieces.

Lotsa rose rings. I see some on etsy.

Measure your hand or print out the pic to the size of you hand and take measurements.

How accurate do you want?

Some slightly better pictures I found… I don’t think the ring is real. I think it’s a painting based on the door knocker.

Thanks, everyone!

I actually do have the picture disc lp, but ironically the larger size doesn't help much with resolution. I do think the ring is real, but I can easily believe that it was something cobbled together solely for the photo and thus likely not actually constructed as a durable wearable ring.

That said, I'm essentially looking for something that captures the spirit of that ring that would still be wearable as an actual ring. I'm amenable to whatever practical alterations to the design that would need to be made to make it something I could wear from time to time. I'm not looking for anything nutsy expensive, not interested in solid gold or platinum or anything silly like that; brass or bronze or even steel or pewter would be fine.

I will definitely explore Geek Jewelry. Thanks for the suggestion, JPH!
