A couple years ago I took a broken tea kettle apart. The 'mouth' of the kettle had a small part in it that looked close to the the Adi Gallia pommel tip (minus protruding ball).
Made me think about building a hardware Adi Gallia. I think fully machined sabres can be pretty, but transforming 'real world' bits and pieces into something bigger than the sum of its parts is what I find appealing.
