ACTORS WHO SHOULD STAY AS SUPPORTING PLAYERS...rant...

David Caruso? How did he make the list? He tried to be a leading man in the movies and that is why he is right back on television. He TOTALLY Bombed in the movies. BTW, does any one remember him from First Blood?

...and why isn't Adam Sandler on the list??!

I don't think Liam should be on the list at all...he's far too versitile an actor.Seth Rogen,well...I didn't like "The Green Hornet" at all,he was annoying as F*&$%!?@#~! unless that is what he was aiming for. However,Pineapple Express was gut bustingly funny as was Superbad.So...he has "some use" in the comedy world, but he's definately NOT "lead" material.Rob Schnider?Come on!Deuce Bigalow and The Hot Chic are great screw-ball comedys. At least, they are in my top 10 comedy list. They are always good for a laugh once in a while. No one else would put themselves through that kind of torture or humiliation.I laugh so hard I can't breathe when I hear, "You ungreatful He-B$#!?*%~@h!" or, "G*!#&D Dammit White Boy!" ,or "Don't worry, my man will stick his D@*%$!? into He-Monkey."or, "Can I get some sea snails...from the colder tank." Amongst many other classic phrases.

"That guy's a Green Beret!" :D

How in the name of all that is holy is Hayden Christensen not #1 on this list? That dude shouldn't be anywhere near the front end of a camera. (Wait, I just read the subject line again and answered my own question.)

Di Caprio has some pretty cringe worthy moments in some of his movies but he has managed some good work. I still don't know why Scorsese is so in love with the guy.

Will Ferrell. I like him in very small doses but you stick him in the lead role and it's the same thing every time. I have totally missed the bus that takes you to the church of Ferrell.

I used to think the same way about Greg Kinnear and Keanu, but then I saw the movie "The Gift".
Keanu, especially through me for a loop, seeing him in a dramatic role as an abusive husband.
This movie actually brought out some real acting talent in actors I didn't think could really act that well to begin with. Worth watching if you get a chance!:cool:thumbsup

He was actually pretty good in Shattered Glass.

On the whole, I think there are a lot of talented actors in Hollywood who take roles that really do NOT stretch their abilities. Will Ferrel in "Stranger Than Fiction" was...ok. Certainly more tolerable than his usual schtick.

But yeah, type-casting, being cast in films where they just want you to do your usual thing, etc. Plus, I suppose, actors and agents who don't particularly WANT to stretch. They'd rather just cash in and collect their paycheck for doing yet another "I'm just playing myself" role.

Thing is, if an actor annoys me in leading roles, they're just as unimpressive as supporting players. They're either good or they ain't.

Nic Cage actually has talent. The problem is that he also has no taste and/or an awful agent.

Exactly! He was great in 'Leaving Las Vegas' (Won Best Actor) and 'Adaptation' (Nominated for Best Actor)! Plus, another 32 seperate awards for acting...
...which is why he keeps getting work, but he does have a list of movies that are SuckFests!:sick
