Accurized P1 Backpack Mold Finished Pg 16

Carl, Faken should get around to replying...he took some awesome gauntlet shots for me, but has pretty much vanished since then, don't know why. Pretty sure he's just busy, rather than a lack of willingness to help.
Not saying its a lack of willingness to help. In fact, Dan did reply to me, but suggested the same thing everyone else has---to use the review photos on Predator Stuff. While helpful, the specific areas seen from specific angles that I need aren't present in those photos which is why I sent the same two example photos to Dan and others that I posted on the previous page for a follow up reply. I'm not just singling him out, just frustrated all the way around on this. The other problem is the fact the dreds and cannon obscure the details I'm trying to see in the existing photos, which is why new photos will have to be taken.

Thanks to folks like inkmonster and helmet hunter. I've already got those photos in the links you posted, thanks anyway. In fact, I've scoured the internet, including Dan's 3 part review on You Tube, amongst others. Believe me, if I could afford the $3,500 price tag for one of those CM statues I wouldn't bother anyone with this. I'll chalk it up to my sense of urgency in trying to wrap this up by year's end as not being the same as others.

Thanks

Carl, Tried PM'n you, but as usual ya pm box is full.

I think i know someone ( well spoke to him a couple of times ) who has one of these, ive sent him a pm pn another board, and assuming he gets back to me, ill do my best buddy, or put you in contact with him etc.

hopefully someone will help before then.

I think you would get the Carl P1 backpack more so then the cinemaquette P1 although you never know miracles in some form or another can happen

Missed this ----
Yes, Santa Carl is busy in his clay ball infested workshop on the backpack as we speak. It turns out the finished right side of the sculpt seen on page 5 was not finished after all. After coming into possession of new reference pix, I stripped that side and began re-sculpting it to match the photos. Me and my damn screen accurizing! Hey--it's gotta be right! It'll be worth it all in the end. Good news. My budzo Scott has completed construction of his new roto-caster which will be an absolute necessity in casting the backpack. Now that the proto is done, we'll have to make a larger one for my long overdue project. Dwayne is right, it won't be ready until January - there's been so much crap to contend with this year. So you good boys and girls can put the milk and cookies out on Christmas Eve---but don't forget to put out the six pack in the middle of January!

Carl, you work is looking great. Nice crisp lines and veryu symmetrical. So your saying you won't have to do a second molding of this? How is that possible? How tell us how?

Carl,
will your new P1 backpack fit or go with my lifesize resin Predator?
It is the one cast off the P1 film suit with the dead end gauntlet tops,P2 hands.
Heres a pic of the one i talking bout. If your your backpack with match up to it then i wants one for sure!

Huh? Sorry, a little groggy, just woke up next to an empty keg on Scott's porch ------ So drunk I thought his car door was the bathroom door in his house.

Alpha--in the past I have molded things twice to increase the quality of my pieces, but it is more time consuming and costly to do this. The only reason is that due to my less-than clay skills at the time, it was easier for me to clean up and straighten out a resin casting than it was to sculpt it right the fist time out of clay. Once I had the resin proto bondoed/ ground/ and sanded smooth, I molded that piece for the final. I did this with my gen 2 cannon and upper armor pieces. Bear in mind, I was using that horrible Monster Makers oil based clay at the time. Now that I'm using the Chavant, along with more practice, that process is no longer necessary.

As for the backpack fitting on the Rosengrant/ Mahan cast, it probably will. Without trying it, it is impossible to know, but Scott A.'s got a Morris one (same proportions) that I can test it on once cast. Judging by the look I gave it last week, I would say it's a safe bet. However, keep in mind that Kevin Peter Hall was not your average sized guy.

Has anyone seen my Keg?
And sorry Carl my car is in storage so must have been yours!
I would think the backpack will fit very good to the statue.

As accurate as its looking and going to be....it will fit just about any P1 suit or statue. I think its time to get in line and pitch a tent for the January release of CARL'S P1 BACKPACK.........coming to a forum near you.
