Accurate ALIENS / USCM Gerber knife sheathe?

Heres some info for you. The knife in Aliens was not a Gerber. It was a Chinese made copy. the Gerber Mk 2 have a grey and black hilt. The Aliens knife has an all green/olive drab colored hilt. I think the brand name was Fury if I'm right. I had a Berber for the longest time until it was stolen from me.

A guy in Japan makes repros, and sells them on ebay. (though not black)


I'm pretty sure Gerber MK II and Explorer Night Raiders were used in the

film. I have a ENR. A bunch of characters sported ENR knives.

Are you sure about that? I clearly remember the scene in the mess hall when Hudson and Bishop are playing with the knife and it's clearly all black.

And I've heard that MAA is thinking about having some mass produced, but I wouldn't waste my money with him.

The real Gerber MK II is available again (after a long hiatus) and can be found for around $80. It's all black (black oxide on the blade as well).

It's the cordura sheath that is the only problem.

Gerber was bought out by a Japanese company a couple of years ago and now all they are turning is junk, high priced junk, but junk none the less. They are using Gerber's former reputation to do this. I have a large collection of Gerber's knves and most of the knife sheaths are made out of leather. The new knife blades stop inch inside the handle instead of going through the knife handle like they use to. I know because I had a couple of the Japanese Gerber's X-rayed and found this out for myself.

Just found this while doing a search for the original sheath. I spoke with Lance Henrisken last weekend and he did state that the knife was black. He also shared an interesting story on how he ended up using the Gerber in that iconic scene. Non the less it was black not green.
