AA Star Trek Phase Pistol

The toy is slightly smaller in scale than the prop made for Enterprise. However, in an episode, they had a scene where they needed the prop to open. The opening function was something unique to the toy so they utilized the toy for the scene. Besides the paint mod, they also added the inside warning decal.

I believe there are some other known uses for the toy in the show throughout the run but I’m not sure.

That's not quite true, there were opening versions of the phase pistol made for the show and seen a couple of times prior to the AA toy version being released. (plenty of screenshots here: Phase Pistol) They likely used the AA version for the specific episode you are referencing to avoid having to rewire the electronics in their more expensive hero props. That scene required the LEDs to flash as part of the overload sequence if I recall correctly.

Do you happen to know if the toy was utilized anywhere else in the series other than that one scene?

If anyone is looking for the correct screws for the phase pistol pivot, you'll need pan-head spanner screws, in size 8-32. Sometimes they're called "snake eye" screws too.

McMaster-Carr

The AA phase pistol and communicator were used quite a lot in the third and fourth seasons as background props and a great number showed up in the prop auctions after the show ended. BTW, there's a common misconception with the size difference between the original phase pistols and the toy version often being overstated - width and height are the same, but the length is about 3/8" shorter overall on the toy (so only about 5% smaller). It's really fairly close in size over all.

These TV props seem be to cast?? No assembly seems and some crooked lines, etc..
Tripper, mentioned electronic's on some, so there were hero and just pure static versions?
