Wow, nice craftmanship. Just out of curiosity, why not build it at studio scale, when you're so close?
The studio scale model is a 60 cm beast, that i find too large and heavy for a good model display. It has to fit my vacformer and pressurepot as well. I also aim to stay away from the very tiring discussion around finding the correct kit parts. Btw, Steve Neisen did a SS version, so no need to repeat that.

Oh my gosh! Lasse! I just now put two and two together here. I have LOVED your series about painting the Tantive IV on Vimeo. Loved loved loved it. Very informative. Keep up the great work!

These are good reasons, I was just asking because 1:15 and 1:12 seemed pretty close, but I guess once you get into bigger scales like these, increasing the scale by a tenth or 2 does make a big difference.
I actually did buy Steve’s kit, it’s huge indeed, but i still need to finish my xwing first

Scratch building an A-wing seems like it would be a lot of work to get all the curves just right, and yet you look like you have nailed it perfectly.
I was never good at curves or keeping everything symmetrical.

I like your approach and philosophy... use what you got and make bits from scratch. One could go broke buying all the models used to make studio scale accurate recreations. Scratch building can be done on various levels and budgets....the only one that's right is the one that's right for you. Love if you'd have a look at my DY-100 scratchbuild and give input.
