3D Scanning advice

Hello,

Not sure if this would be a correct place to post, please remove if not.

I'm looking into 3D scanning a few objects I have, biggest at the moment is about 9x9x9 inches. Has anyone had experience scanning? Or does anyone know of facilities that provide such services?

I looked into purchasing a hand scanner, Occipital - but reviews aren't that great. I really don't want to shell out money for something that would end up being a paper weight :lol

I also tried Skanect w/Kinect scanner, and well...I just ended up with a giant blob :facepalm

If anyone has any tips, suggestions or recommendations - I'd greatly appreciate your help!

Depending on what it is and what you need deon, I'll be able to do it for about $400 per object, and it will be professional hollywood/military grade 3d scanning han hand scan.pngshot 2 (1).jpg

The Han Solo one was scanned with a $40k Faro Arm. I have access to a ton of other scanners and can even pick up fingerprint details

$40K scanner :eek wow!!!

I will definitely keep you in mind!! There is one that I'd definitely would like to give it a try, but gotta put a garage sale first to get some funds :lol

Thank you for reply, and I do hope making business with you in the near future, that is of course, if the wallet allows it

Anyway, 3D scanning, Have you considered photogrammetry? Some googling you should find some options... some free some not... But you might be able to acquire some really good programs. It wont pick up finger print detail. And it takes time to process. But you can get some amazingly accurate scans.

What objects do you have to scan? If you've got stuff with a load of overhangs, is back or is glossy, most of the hobby/prosumer grade scanners have problems scanning them accurately.
