OK so my first foray into the 3d printing world begins with the Samaritan! I love this thing, its so tactile!
I got the original .stl files from the kind folks at Thingieverse.com, The credits are as follows!

Dan0nator who made the original model - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:71235
Brad72 for the speed loader and bullets - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:260664
muckychris for the revised handle - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:241861

Thanks for all the hard work so I could be lazy!

I did make a few tweaks to the original design to try and get it as screen accurate as I could, and I think it prints a bit smaller than the actual version used in the film, but I think it came out ok.

so this is the original print after some clean-up and filler to the corners

SO I jumped a few steps and this is the final painting and weathering (hiding all the lazy mistakes). I added some detail that wasnt in the original like the screw heads and "grippy" section on the cylinder release lever. I also changed the mechanism to be spring loaded which is more in keeping with the movie.

I used a hex bolt and a spring from an old mechanical pencil (after some drilling and filling)

And some "Have a nice Day!" bullets which are not accurate but I liked the idea!

Very nice results! Even in the unpainted picture, it hardly looks like something I'm used to seeing coming out of an extrusion 3D printer. Impressive!

Thanks again all. Could anyone tell me if there has been another build of this that has included the true dimensions? I'd love to build a 1:1 scale version!
If anyone could help that would be awesome!
