3D printed Harley Quinn's cork gun

One of my cosplay friends really wanted a gun to complete her Harley Quinn costume so I knocked up a model in SolidWorks to 3D print.

Spent the last 2 days printing parts of it off on my Ultimaker 2 and glued them together, ready for filling and sanding. I've got huge hands so it looks a bit bigger in real life. Plans are to fill, sand and prime it, then cast it in resin as I have another client who wants one. I'm casting the grips separate so I can dye the resin a different colour.

Nice build, like the colour of the print!. A tip for 2 piece silicone moulds, your seam will be tighter if you remove the clay from around the piece to pour the second half but don't remove the part from the mould as that suction seal will be gone.

I'll keep that in mind for next time. Took it out just to see if it'd actually worked, being the first mold I've ever made.

Haha yeah I know the feeling. It shouldn't affect it too much in terms of getting a good seam line, it just won't be quite as tight. Hope the other half went well :)

Seam lines were a bit iffy, especially around the trigger guard where the 2 halves of the mold stuck together and had to be cut apart. Should be easy to tidy up with a bit of bondo and spot filler though :)
