Someone here posted this a few years ago. My original image was corrupted so I lost the full picture.

I did some changes and came up with this. The antennae is still in the works.

Re: 3D printed Custom communicator WIP

Thanks. I'm probably going to get some parts redone in a clearer print.

That is really cool. I wonder how it would look with a low hemisphere instead of the dimpled round piece you have on the interior.

Re: 3D printed Custom communicator WIP. New pics for 3-3. See my last post.

Did some surface sanding. Probably get a mold made this weekend.
I'll post updates as they happen.

Yes it is cool stuff. Fun to consider the possibilities for other projects.

Re: 3D printed Custom communicator WIP. New pics for 3-15. See my last post.

Looks perfect and it looks like you're planning on doing a run of them too. Excellent!

Perfect timing too since I finally got to that custom phaser kit you sold me far too long ago and I'm half way done with it. I'll be due for a new project soon.

This is a combination of 3D printed parts, 2D laser cut/engraved parts, and one conventionally made part. The right tool for the right job as they say so these three processes were used as I saw best fit. The red and silver buttons are from laser cut parts drawn digitally to my specs with many thanks to Unkle Kahn. The laser cutting/engraving makes for crisper parts so that is why I chose that route instead of 3D printing which still hasn't reached that clarity yet. The 3D printed parts were drawn by myself as was the conventionally made part.
Please excuse the slightly eggshell like finish. It's recently painted and that should smooth out more as the paint hardens and tightens up.

HOLY COW!!! Kid, you've out done yourself!

Did you make this as a one off for yourself or will you be offering it as a kit? I'd love to add one of these to my collection of customs but I can understand if you intend to keep something this cool as a one off for your private collection.

Really damned beautliful design.

That's mind blowing! Totally sharp and fantastic!
All it needs is some super smooth, ultra glossy clear coat!

Thank you. I just need to find some electronics for it now.

Gutting a kid's toy is usually the easiest route.
