I want to give people (and honestly myself) good, cheap armor. I'm rather frustrated with the Microsoft halo costume that is "amazing quality" It's basically 2 dimensional low-quality foam armor.

I don't mean to attack 343 or Microsoft,I love the Halo series, and almost everything they do, that product just lacks so much. As you see with the helmet that is picture, these are high def models (created by an associate) that can be printed at 40 microns per layer using this printer: http://3dmonstr.com/?q=more-details Specifically the "T-Rex 18"
I have a well trained 3d modeler working on the case. Here's his portfolio http://morrisseyalexander.wix.com/morrisseyportfolio
I plan to get that printer and use the 3d models and my trusty laptop to print out these various models. We use PLA as it is not only cheaper, but also a renewable bio-plastic, so its better for the environment. Now, I cant go and print them each one as they are ordered (it takes 30 minutes to print a screw the size of a quarter!!). So i will be making a vacuum former to produce these on a larger scale.
Vacuum forming is where you heat up plastic (ill be using two types, ABS for most of it and co-polyester for the visor that will be epoxied in for a nice hard feel) and then use a vacuum to pull the plastic around the mold.
I am excited to begin this project, however, the printer i need costs $5,399 USD. I need other supplies as well, like wetsuits, mannequins, plastic, a vacuum for the former, etc.
That's where you come in. Although most of the products are rather expensive, they are far cheaper (yet still fantastic quality) than other stores else (i.e. eBay, Etsy) PLUS I'll have a larger range, If this goes through I will have my team of about 5 CG artists creating ALL of the Halo 4 armor sets available in the multiplayer edition.
All of the pictures showing armor pieces and weapon pieces are VERY rough copies and will have work done! They are all 3d images that will be printed once i get my hands on the printer. Minus, of course the 3d test print of the Master Chief helmet.
Lastly, this project is in the developmental stage so theres no way for me to make a suit individually for every person. I apologies, and i mean no offense but if you have an irregular body size (big or small) the costume probably wont fit. The helmets are meant to fit people with about 24" heads. and under (as there will be something in it to protect the head) and the thigh, bicep, cod and chest pieces will all be adjustable to quite large and quite small. However, the shins and fore arms will be adjustable. The suits themselves will come in: Child's, small, medium, large and extra large. If you'd like to contribute, but are unsure if they'd fit (or have any questions or concerns at all) please, email my personal address at legofreakjr@hotmail.com with the subject: Morgans of Mayhem
Painting is an issue for some people. Here's the process:

After (or before) you order something that has options for painting If you choose to, email me, or message me, and specify what you want for the base color (we'll airbrush it so it looks nice and pretty) then specify what you want as secondary paint, basically assume the secondary color will look like it does in halo. If you don't want a secondary color, we will throw in a painted combat knife (and sheath) as well as a painted magnum!
There are several halo 4 helmets available at this time they are: Air assault, Aviator, Defender, E.V.A., Fotus, Hazop, ODST, Oceanic, Recon, Recruit, Scout, Soldier, Warrior and of course: Master chief
Also, there will be three available armor types for Star Wars: Arc trooper, Storm trooper and Clone trooper
Lastly mentioned is the "comic book" option the available helmets are: Deathstroke, The Red Hood, Iron Man and Judge Dredd
Once again all rights are not mine I am simply creating and selling art. The copyrighted names belong to their respected companies.
once again, if you have any questions or concerns at all, please, email my personal address at legofreakjr@hotmail.com with the subject: Morgans of Mayhem

Thank you so much for reading!

I'm very surprised that KS hasn't pulled them down or they haven't received a CnD yet. Basically you have someone going around the web, taking pep files and offering to print them at ridiculously cheap prices. The only image they show of an actual printed helmet was stolen from someone else's thingiverse, then flipped and poorly photoshopped because they don't even have a printer yet.

If funded, in two months they are going to 1. acquire a $5400 3d printer 2.learn to use it 3.have a "team" remodel all the helmets and armor 4.produce all the bucks for the helmets and armor. 5.build a vacuumformer 6.vacuumform all the pieces.

Even if they meet the $7000 goal, with the printer and other materials they will probably be starting in the hole before producing a single piece.

I really would say the person has no basis in reality to accomplish what they are proposing.

I would run, not walk away from this KS.

Hi all, first post here, but anyways, this is only enough money for the guy to acquire a printer and tools. He will still have no money for making these or the experience to do it. Which it usually takes around a year for someone to learn to build a quality suit. For this guy to supply the internet with good helmets and suits in a couple months? No way. Even then, I'm not supporting some guy to get a printer not many people have, for little to no cost to him for free. He has no pictures of stuff he's worked on. To me it seems this guy just wants a 3D printer to make his own stuff.

It doesn't matter if he wants his own printer, the fact is he's talking about eventually selling something that he has no rights to. It's very simple.

They're also going against Kickstarter rules by offering prop weapons.

"Prohibited Items

Weapons, replicas of weapons, and weapon accessories."

There's an option to report the campaign to Kickstarter. One of the reasons it can be reported is for copyright infringement, so they can easily be reported for selling copyrighted stuff.

He's also a moron because if he's trying to get $5400 for the printer alone and only set his goal at $7000. If he reaches his goal without going over by much, the amount of fees that he'll lose to Kickstarter and Amazon will take enough out that he won't even be able to afford the printer itself.
