thanks brundefly, i've been working and making adjustments to get my falcon close to being acurate. it's not easy, but the end result will be worth the time and effort!

Looks bloody fantastic Moe!Really, you are a true crafstman..not many can accomplish what you have, and as much as I doubt my own skills as a model builder..you insprire me to do it.Too much chaos going on in my life at the moment, but it wont keep me from studdy over the Falcon&drawing prints which are a real hassel for me.Time is of the essence, and it seems as though I never have enough of it...let alone money.Anyway, keep up the spectacular work&I really appreciate your advice,& pictures.Yur Falcon is looking great..I'm sure that some of the old ILMer's would be astounded what you,Frank,Tim and the very few others have done.Keep the pics comming...I love look'in at'em-John

nice but is it permanently attached ? it looks odd as if the cockpit center is off by 30 degrees meaning too far from the body just an observation

thanks for the input guys, I have taken the liberty of destroying the upper saucer and rebuilt it. the cockpit tunnel has been realigned

wow no need the go that far. just could have cut the cockpit off and fudged it a bit but hey thats just me .
I am having big problems with the plans those mandables are killing me the distance between it hard to determine any hints ?

After finding good reference material on the web I was able to see a lot of things that were off on the upper saucer. It only took me about 4 hours to rebuild it and now SLOWLY replating.

ok I guess we all have our monsters to contend with

I finally am at a point where I think my plans are good and close at least the top one so far

well I was given that advice by alot of people so I did it this is the fourth generation drawing full size thats a big drawing I settled on these dims
22.25 dia saucer
overall length 31.75
overall hieght 7.5 with out the gunn on the turrets

all dims taken from photos from the exhibit around the globe

chuck
lateset threw out those plans again as the saucer was still too small now on 6 set of plans this is just as much a night mare as the galactica jimmeny cricket
23"x 32"x 7.75

yeah I just penciled in the basic shape onto raw material, built up the saucers/mandibles and glued the 2 halves together. after that made adjustments as needed. it went very quickly.

now I just thought of a great idea
Ian done withmy top plan so I am on to the bottom plan but while doing this I though of a way to make the saucer top and bottom master pattern
using wood disc's of various diameters to meet the hieght needed the fill with plaster and smooth out sand to shape when dry and then cast a grp mold if this works would anyone else be interested in a set of saucers ?
