32 inch ESB Millennium Falcon

Thanks guys!

So, do any of you know of the "4-wheels" - I still haven't found them and they are the only parts I need to find before I have a complete engine

OUTSTANDING!!!!!!

Im still planning on putting my 32" falcon together.
Now that ive completed my Fett helmet i feel much more confident about starting this project now.
Ive had the plans drawn up for some time now & have even built the Falcon in 3d to check that it would work.

Does the basic shell look okay, or have i missed anything obvious?

Thanks

Looks good to my eye, but my Falcon knowledge doesn't compare with others in this thread.
A shot viewing the side straight-on would help us (them) judge if you've gotten the side panel proportions right.

Rear top access holes on MANDIBLES are too close to saucer.

Thanks

I just realised the 3D model is an old one from a previous revision & the saucer wasnt correct. DOH!

Thanks

I would like to see some pics of your completed Fett helmet Nathan.....thats if completed means you have painted it.

Keith.

The wheel on page 11 is off a panzer 4, i think the tank body section on page 11 is also a panzer 4 thats had a section cut out of the middle and then glued back together, thats why the turret ring is now oval shaped. Im not sure what tank the front slope parts are from yet but i don't think its from a ww2 tank. Try 1950 onwards.

Keith.

One more thing.....
The panzer 4 wheel has been inserted into something else, the ring surrounding the wheel is not part of the wheel.
The italeri 1/35 scale model panzer 4 comes with spare wheels, the spares dont have the hub in the centre like you see when the wheel is fitted.

Keith.

Moes1,
the slope sections are from a ww2 tank after all, its the front section of a sherman M4A4, see this link to a model sherman with the same front. http://www.asam.co.uk/shermo.html
My Dad knows about tanks and he thinks the body section might be from a panzer 4 and he thinks the wheel is from a sherman, like you said.
I still think its a panzer 4 wheel, it even has 8 strengthening spokes like the panzer.

Keith.

the middle tank body is a scorpion british tank .the rear slope is also a sherman m4 a4
there are also some 1/20 f1 part in there and some tamiya ship 1/700 parts in there

hope this helps

Check out Moe's Antenna
This is what it looks like on my Falcon.

Moe, Frank,

You guys are unbelievable!! Your work is flawless. I hope that with enough patience and hard work my own bird will turn out half as well. Keep posting pics !!!

Jamie

Hey Frank it looks great!! when do you plan to blow it up with M-80's and light it on fire...oh sorry I had a childhood flashback.

just wondering why the black plastic is being used
and what type it is (abs) or vinyl ?
anyway it is a thing of beauty

still working on my plans I expect it will be next year before I can stort it
take care

Not only do the black styrene help align the plates but it also provide the black gun scratched when the paint is removed or scribed away. ILM did not paint all of it. It can be seen on some of my ref. pictures. I have used white styrene but should have used black. I will have to paint all of it.

... and yes, the radar does look awesome on Franks Falcon. I can't believe I actually build it.

Looks spectacular Frank!I have more kits than I think I need for the Falcon, but no time to work on the bugger.School starts soon.....too much going on all at once.I know...excuses,excuses.Anyway,in reference to the radar dish.I've been trying to figure what kit part ILM used to make the dish.Tim used a dispay stand part from the MPC/ERTL Vader Tiefighter kit,and said it was a little too big.I was wondering what part you settled on Frank,or if it's 100% scratch built?I purchased a 1/25 AMT Tanker truck kit thinking the domed end(s) may be large enough in diameter to be used/modified slightly to make the dish.I'm curious to know,anyway....keep up the good work&pics..I like seeing yur progress-John
